After a month of ownership, questions...

Hey all! First and foremost, I would like to say that after just under a month of ownership, I still love this car! I am very pleased with the car over all, but I do have a few questions for you guys who have owned these cars longer than I have. Here goes:

Are there any aftermarket shifters available? I think perhaps I am just too used to the crisp and solid engagement from my Hurst shifter in my mustang - the factory shifter feels a bit sloppy and not solid at all. Doesnt seem fitting for a car that seems to be built to drive fast and shift hard! :)

I have noticed when getting up to speed, there is a slight leakage at my drivers side window, almost like the window itself is not quite up all the way, but it is. Is this a common problem with and easy fix? (I hope! lol) Is it just something that is inherent with the model?

Lastly, the performance mod bug is starting to get me. What stuff have you guys done, and how are your feelings about the mod afterwards? I am especially interested in hearing from any one who has turboed a 3.0i like mine. I see kits are available, but I have never ventured into the forced induction world... Yet. :)

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

Welcome.

Whalen shift machine for custom knobs or a zhp. If your looking for a short shifter kit there is the uuc short shifter. I am happy with just the Whalen shift knob

There is a window reset guide in the how to section. We have all gone through what you have. Just give it a reset and make sure u push the window up all the way the first time after the reset

Go fast mods? Look into the ess twin screw 2+ kit. Other then that, I have seen v8 and v10 conversions done. I have only done handling mods such as sway bars, strut brace, trailing arms and bushes and coilovers. Have braided brake lines and standard calipers. More people should jump in soon to help in this section

When you close your door The window should go up about 5mm to seal against the roof. If it doesn't then you need to search resetting your windows as said above.

I changed my shifter to the zhp (shorter weighted knob) and it made a massive difference to the shift feel. I would change the knob 1st then go to the short shifter if your still not happy.

As for turning up the power - if you go the turbo route you will probably need to rebuild the engine after 6 months (unless you can afford forged internals, injectors, new ecu, intercooler etc). I think the ess supercharger kit seems the most popular, and a few members have had them for years with no issues.

With regard to the window, I doubt it's the windows rest that's required, it's more likely that the actual glass needs adjusting. It may have had the regulator replaced and then not been adjusted correctly afterwards.
