After 4 E39's I may need an E89.

It was going so well until you mentioned GREEN.

Could be worse, though. It could have been yellow! Yuk.

That looks great Bluebottle, but I’m afraid that B21’s Atacama Yellow 35is would be the car for me :driving:

Well, if I get tired of my convertible / complex folding roofs, I will look for a 3.0 E85 Z4 coupe in blue ; having seen so many lovely ones recently, I have fallen for them!

I realise many people don't like green cars, particularly Americans, which make them rarer and more special. Personally, I never understand owners specifying there expensive new cars in white or battleship grey, or even removing the shiny lacquer, but that's what makes it such a varied and interesting world. I was in a long traffic queue recently where all the vehicles were black, grey or white including my own E39, so I welcome some orange , brown or green. :D

Here are some better shots today. The car isn't perfect; there is a long list of jobs, but at the moment it is more importartant to get out with my wife and enjoy the wind in the hair driving while the sun shines.
The last owner covered the aluminium trim with carbon fibre style vinyl that I am keen to replace with wood ASAP. He also had all black kidney grills that I replaced with silver/ chrome ( 35iS I think) that I fortunately got for £22 on eBay! I am pleased with the painted brake calipers behind refurbished wheels. 8)

That looks beautiful… the silver/chrome grille works for me, especially against that blue and the alloys. You look to be running Bridgestones… are these RFTs? I stuck with the OE tyre choice for too long (due to funds) but non-RFTs give you a much better ride. (If you’ve already changed them you’ll know this), which just adds to the pleasure

What an excellent looking car.
Always good when the quest to find a new car pays off with someting so attractive.
DSB is a beautiful colour and your car looks like a great find. I also am fond of the wood trim ( that seems to be a rare option )
Enjoy your new ride.

Thank you JenniferLouise, very kind. I really didn't like the all black grille, it didn't set off the front of the car like the chrome surround; I would have been just as happy if the inner slats were black, but silver is just as nice. I do like silver and chrome detailing on my cars.

The car came to me with 5mm/ two year old Bridgestone NON Runflat tyres so doing 3000 miles annually they should last me another couple of years.

This Z4 is much less forgiving over bumps than my 525i SE, but the steering is much quicker and more direct. I cringe every time I drive over a Devon pothole, convinced something is going to break; so glad I didn't buy an MSport with 19 inch wheels and RFTs, that would make the car horrible in South Devon. Good excuse to drive to Wales next year.... :driving:

I am enjoying every drive more than the last as I get used to the chassis and engine, especially with the roof or windows down, it is my first sports car and so much fun. Fortunately my wife enjoys riding in the passenger seat with me. :D

Thanks Firebird, very kind. I think looks are important, as well as the mechanicals. Yes, there is so much I want to do but have to be patient and watch the pennies.

Thanks for looking.

I cannot wait to see your purchase, no pressure
