Afordable fun from the Blue Oval

So much arrogance in here it's unreal.

You all drive cheap, mass produced 2 seaters. Hardly the pinnacle of luxury.

Get over yourselves

Not true. I have a £50k jag and £100k of comp. jeeps. I could swap the lot for a Bentley if I chose to, but buy what I like and wouldn't be seen in a Ford (nor many others of the mass manufacturers)

Well done. I bet you're so proud of yourself for looking down your nose at people who can only afford lesser vehicles.

How is it arrogance. I just think it's a nasty looking car in my opinion. Are you telling me what I can like and what I can't.?

Good to see a bit of honest debating going on here. Another reason I bought my little Mazda3 was because it was cheaper than an equivalent Focus. The Interior is still way better though. :P

I wrote it specifically in response to your ill thought out comment.

I drive a 13!year old Z, but I can still dislike a Ford, if I choose :)

Does the Focus still have the bonnet catch hidden in that grill oval?

I needed to get under the bonnet of a hired focus many years ago - no handbook in the car and looked like a right chump!

I like fast Fords, the engineering spec on the new RS is right up-there with any of the competition and current top end Focus/Mondeo interiors are very nice places. As for the 'chav' image well that's subjective, some people might see an old Z4 lowered with spoilers, skirts, and red Honda seats as, well,... you get what I'm saying :poke:

I'm sure it's a cracking car to drive and the performance and road holding will be tremendous but pops bangs fireballs and that shelf on the back window?

Maybe years ago I would have liked it, but the M135i is a better bet for this old git! Only a pity that BMW haven't got a 4wd version with auto!

You're perfectly entitled to like whatever you want.

But to say a car is chavvy reeks of elitism.

As another member said, i'm sure a lot of non car people look at Z4's and think you and I look like a chav or boy racer.

Anyone reading this thread would just think "What a bunch of elitist knob jockeys"

:D

Very tetchy indeed.

Am I the only one who doesn't think £30k is affordable? Especially for a Focus!

But I never said anything about 'chav'. I said it was aspirational to rep drivers. Hell that's why Ford build such cars..

I just can't believe anyone would waste £30k on a focus. You can do better for your money, but everyone is different - thank goodness ...

£30K == Nissan GT-R

Yeah, great idea and sound advice... Oh wait, you won't get the bills from a Ford Focus that you'll end up with if you buy one of those bad boys though. Great toy, but when it comes down to it, it still has the maintenance costs of a £70k car

To have a GT-R in the shed, I think I could forgive the 6k mile service interval  Although, a used Bently Continental GT does look like a monster buy at £30k.

Yep but Bently Continental's are driven by slightly richer Chavs. :fuelfire:

and that's a lot cheaper than the Focus. :o

I wasn't aware you could sell your old cars - I always give mine to charity / household staff members.

How the other 99.9% live :poke:

Well I drive an ///M, which everyone knows is god's own car with the engine of an angry shower of angels in it - I have no idea what I'm doing in the 'Other Marques' forum as, by my definition, it is clearly inferior. I'm off - you can all get on talking about, well, whatever really

:P
