Hi All

In reference to the hard top group buy, there was some interest shown for the aerodynamic skirts,Bob at Coopers has sent me the following, which again looks like a really good deal,

Hi Russell,
With regard to the comments on the forum regarding aerodynamic skirts I have spoken with BMW and can offer the following:
Pair of side skirts painted to match existing colour:

RRP Inc VAT £401.28 per pair.

3 orders (i.e. 3 Pairs) £300.96 per pair.

6 orders (i.e. 6 Pairs) £290.92 per pair.

This price is for supply of the skirts only and is for collection only.
Clips and gaskets can be included at a charge of £40.00 Inc VAT if required.
Delivery can be arranged but there will be a charge for this dependant on destination.
Once again there is a deadline which on this occasion is Friday 14th of August.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Thats very tempting, I was trying to save money though :headbang:
I am interested, but I need to decide what car I'm likely to be driving this year...

I'm quite interested in this and am local to Maidstone.

What sort of costs would I be looking at to get them fitted? Any ideas?

Nige.

Getting them fitted? Nige, you can do that yourself.

Or you can pay for my skirts and I will fit both of them :D

How much would he charge for the front bumper and are they colour coded or not?

Bigger problem is I'm in Scotland, any idea on postage costs?

I'm not fuelling any cross dressing habits of yours my Dutch friend..!!
Hmmm...Are they tricky, fiddly and a pita to fit or reasonably straightforward?

Well, even if i think that the Aero side skirt are very good looking on the Z (in fact, the Z4 should have been sold with the Aero side skirt as standard fitment... :D), it's still a bit expensive for my taste (although i recognize the bargain of this offer). Plus I don't know if i'm going to keep my car until the end of the year.

But, in the meantime, if someone here with the standard side skirts in Titan Silber is willing to replace them with the aero ones, just leave me a PM, i could be interested (especially the right side...).

The side skirts should be easily fitted within an hour, if you can lift the car up.

I think I will only fit them if I put the front spoiler and rear carbon fibre diffuser at the same time. Just putting side skirts on a standard Z4 is a bit strange.

Will Bob do front spoiler and rear carbon diffuser at dicount price if bulk order?

Way too difficult for you. I will only charge you £300 to fit them :D

I'll do it for only £279.99 (plus Shuttle tax).

 Sounds like a challenge to me..lol!!

I reckon a big lump hammer, a large screwdriver and some gaffer tape will have them fitted in minutes.... Provided I can get my hands on a copy of the fitting pdf..... :poke:

I am actually tempted by these, but am concerned about the insurance aspect. No doubt they will class it as a body kit and therefore hike the premium.

How would you best describe them I wonder to see what the insurance effect is.

(Voodoo - I have the fitting instructions by the way - £300 and they are yours :D )

Most insurance companies only increase the premium if the car's performance is improved, not style. But it is always worth to tell them any modifications anyway.

I will check it tomorrow to see what they say. I am almost too scared to call an insurance company, as if you just mention that you want to do something it is already enough to raise the premium as surely that means you are a bigger risk ...
