Aero Wipers?

Hi all, firstly do the face lifted Zed's have Aero Wipers?

If so it should only be a matter of changing the wiper arms and blades. I ask this as this is a great mod, I purchased a modified set of aero's complete from another forum for my 5 series, what an improvement they made much quieter in operation and cleaner wipe of the screen. I felt they also gave cleaner look to the car freshed up even.

Oh I do hope they just a matter of swapping over new for old.

I have aero blades fitted onto the standard wiper arms. Looks 'clean' and equally as efficient as the originals. :thumbsup:
 
Same here. got rid of the stock wipers after only a few days as they sounded horrific. Could have been worn blades but considered my options, bought a set of Aero's off eBay and they sound, work and look great now.
 
Facelift Zed's have standard wipers. Ive just changed mine to aero's aswell. You can get them cheap from wiperblades. A problem alot of people seem to have with them though is the passenger side near the tax disk does sit flush so is missed out on the wipers sweep.
 
I had them once. In a torrential downpour at X mph on the motorway it buckled and flew of. NEVER again. They look nice and work well enough in 90% of conditions but they just dont have the rigidity of a normal blade.
 
Ah that's bad news then not a straight swap, just after market ones available, I've had them before and binned them, not for me. The pair I got for my E39 5er were actually modified original E60 ones. So I enjoyed OE equipment they were great. I suppose I could contact the chap how made them, but I think we'd need a large group buy as he done a lot of research moding until he had it perfect. They weren't cheap but his workmanship was excellent and I felt they were worth every penny, I will miss them.

Rain X and the retrofit own-brand aero-style wipers from www.wiperblades.co.uk :thumbsup:

Rain X is a marmite thing, personally I think it's great but it takes some getting used to at first seeing the rain produce nice trails up the windscreen, quite mersmerising...

Yes, definitely. You've just got to resist the urge to flick the wiper when it starts to rain. I find that most wipers are not particularly good when you're driving quickly on the autobahn :D

The only downside is when there's greasy spray (i.e. not actually raining, but crap getting thrown up from vehicles in front), as the water will run off, but the grease/oil/dirt stays and you have to use your washers & wipers (but you can have Rain-X wiper fluid too which tops it up between uses).

Have you (or anyone) tried the Rain-X wiper fluid stuff? I only use the stuff you manually apply to the windscreen and find it lasts pretty well just using regular halfords screen wash. But if this stuff extends the life of the Rain-X then I might try it...

I got a free bottle with my last purchase of Rain-X from Costco. Don't know if it made any difference or not, as I tend to top up the Rain-X on the screen monthly anyway.
