I have made a post here for the group buy: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=117102

I will try and converse with Leonardlp to get as much detail as I can.

Currency is $350 USD - which is roughly £287 at the time of this post (Using xe.com rates).

Shipping to the UK is yet to be calculated, and the cost (including any duty etc) would be split amongst the buyers equally

Those interested, please "+1" on the thread linked above to add yourself to the list so we can start to gather names.
No Money is being collected as of yet.

You might want to factor in some import duty/taxes into your costs as well.

Good point - remember HMC&E stinging me for an extra 23% for something I bought from the USA... about 3 weeks after I received it. The ‘invoice’ was issued by the courier company where my experience is you never try to dodge the HM inspectorate, they now know far too much, you pay what’s due.

I did mention it, but I should definitely add it to the group post thread and make sure it's bold and people are aware. There's no sure fire way of knowing the cost/fees from the import tax and duty until they hit the UK really though

Has anyone actually fitted these to a car to check what the fitment is like?

See Leonardip’s post on page 3 of this post. He shows a picture of his friends Zed with the Aeros fitted.

I don’t think these reps include the hidden upper fixings of the OEM aero’s, so you would probably either need to glue the Aeros in place or fabricate your own hidden fixings.

Yeah devros is correct.
They do not have the hidden fixing clips

Not to piss on the parade but aftermarket "replica" items from unknown brands tend to be fairly lacklustre with regards to consistency. Especially if you're ordering 30 sets or whatever is there any guarantee to the fitment?

That pair installed above may have taken 20 hours at a bodyshop to flatten, prep and then adjustment to get them fitted that way. I've seen it many times with Chinese/Ebay parts as a friend owns a bodyshop.

Also what are they even made of? I highly doubt it's abs therefore my guess is fibreglass....

As one of the people who bought into the original group buy I’m pretty well qualified to respond to this

I already posted that the quality was good.... at least better than I expected. I also commented that it would be necessary for a body shop to do some minor prep-work prior to install. If a body shop takes 20 hours to prep some sideskirts, they probably aren’t a very capable bodyshop.

I agree that there may be some inconsistencies between sets, but not to the degree that it would be a make-or-break decision making factor.

Some work will be required to be able to use the oem clips, but that is not unexpected since these are not oem skirts. Alternative fitment methods would be possible, but it is up to individuals to make their decision how to install them. From what I’ve read of posts on this forum there have been multiple reports of difficulty installing oem skirts with oem clips.

I’m sure that Leo won’t be upset if I conclude that for anyone who is prepared to put in some effort for a part that is no longer available from BMW, these skirts are an excellent option. Anyone who has expectations of exact oem quality items might be disappointed and might be advised to not go ahead with joining the group buy.

When I get my skirts painted and fitted I will post details of the experience and costs

U are partially right.
They are fibre reinforced plastics. FRP.
The point is the originals arent available.
If u can find one. Happy for u..

For the rest of us people who really want one.
This is one of the option. Myself included

Thanks paul for the honest reply. Maybe better Wait for him to post feedback after he fits his skirts into his car then decide. Cos i duno the fitment either.

Last thing i want is for bad feelings from any forumer who has their hopes dashed.

Agreed, but 10 pairs of these could attract some attention so I’d try and work out roughly the maximum costs just to cover yourself.

The bill will come 2 or so weeks after delivery... well thats what happened last time I ordered something from the colonies.

If everyone remembers there’ll be an extra 23 or so % (the tax is goods plus shipping) then IamOrion simply justifies & takes money at collection.

[ref]greg81[/ref], Hi Greg, I have been searching these threads for any information I can get on aero skirts and stumbled upon your post. Do you happen to know the quality of the Duraflex ones? I checked the link you put and I'm only a 1/2 hour drive from his Garden Grove location. Thanks.
