once of dropped my little boy up ill get some pics up.... hopefully everyone will tell me im being over the top and to stop being an arse...... sadly.... i dont think that will be the case....
im going to take them to simpson motorsport in gloucestershire and have them done properly....

That's why I was glad to get mine from the local dealer, less chance of damage. Would like to get mine painted but need to find a decent bodyshop near me.
 
Beedub would it not be cheaper to fit them and have a detailing guy give them the once over.If that doesn't work take them off and take them to simpsons might save you a £200 .Awaiting pics for final judgement these dreaded cursed skirts..... :rofl:

Navid thanks for that , hopefully they will come tomorrow.. :thumbsup: and just maybe i can get them painted before Easter but i very much doubt it now.

i text him and he was Very nice about it...... he says that he couldnt flat them without them being on the car and that an hours worth of flat and polishing these will be perfect.... he wants to fit them to the car and drop the car to him..... Honestly???? thats not going to happen no way am i dropping my pride and joy off and leaving it with these guys,... at this point id rather loose the money and pay again elsewhere...... it says alot to me that they were even relased to me in this condition, which isnt bad by any means but is far from perfect.......

Thats what my bodyshop said to me..... or along those lines.... said due to the shape its easier to polish them once fitted to the car... especially with black showing every imperfection and swirl.... So basically let them do what they thought was best.... they did a great job painting it... but not the best job fitting my skirts which i had to redo :roll:
 
Ok guys just dropped my little boy off to my moms for tonight.... Right now taking pics as i speak give me 30 mins.....

Looking forward to what u all think... Actually the general paint is to a high standard, its just a few areas im not pleased with....

just uploading now.... dont really know if you guys are going to be able to see anything really....... the cam is struggling to pick these issues up..... lets see how it turns out......

now for reference if i would have been told we really need your car to get these perfect i would have made the decision their and then to leave this until the car was a simpson.... Also when the box was handed over to me i was told these look really good now..... tell me what you think??? again the overall finish is good, but their are bits thats are far from good which makes me feel like i dont want to put these on my car... which ive simply not spared ANYTHING to make it what it is today.....

now honestly give me your opinion..... please tell me im being over the top..... this cost me 175 bags....

overall finish is very good, you really need to look closer to see the imperfections, i would say 90% of people wouldnt notice unless you really looked

lacquer or paint buildup??? im not sure, looks like a raised section on paint.... it feels smooth however

grit / dirt in the paint.... this is raised up and feels rough

Poor finish and you will notice these imperfections due to the way the skirts ride out

this pretty much is the worst of the bits.... the pics make it look less sever really in person i spotted it within 5 mins of inspecting this....

again if i would have been told from the off this wouldnt be perfect due to no being able to have the car to polish them on, i would have it left it.....

also i was asked "are these genuine"...... i was asked to bring the car in with these fitted so they can be flatted and machine polished..... i feel very uncomfortable taking my pride and joy down their tbh.....

not to sure what to do at this point.......

to top it off i had to leave my son @ nursery till 6.30pm to collect these on, his was very distressed when i got their, Never again..... i felt terrible doing that, minor to most but hit me in the heart when i saw him, not to mention for the poor job above
 
agreed, i wouldn't be happy with that. :( Hope you get it sorted. Geez I hope mine are ok, if not i'll have the added complication of it being a friend
 
At this point i asked the guy to re-paint these who said if you bring these fitted he will flat and polish these and they will be perfect..... Now as you can imagine and as you have all seen my car its PERFECT, not a screw out of place, not a dent or dink anywhere, a car ive spent mortgage deposit money building, i CLEARLY not going to leave my car with these guys at this point, i dont particuarly want to get into a arguement with this guy as he was recommended to me by phil so i dont want to cause problems for him, so basically im going to ahve to cut my loss and loose 175 quid....... what else can i do..... BUT it says ALOT imo that these were handed to me... i was hoping you guys were going to say im being an ass but sadly..... its pretty obvious these are s**t........ im absolutely gutted!!!

so im going to drop these down to simpsons my boys and get these done properly..... bet you 110% they look perfect WITHOUT my car being their..... so out 175 bags rushed around like a blue arsed fly, left my baby boy whos only 8 months old in nursery for an extra 2hours to the point where he got very distressed for what??? for this BULLSHIT........ never again....in hindsight im happy its just some plastic pieces and not my friggin car.... FUCKING GUTTED.....

to be honest i cant really look at these atm... im well pissed.....

to top it all off i lost a boxing match and have a giant black eye, 8 years boxing next month.... im blaming this s**t as i had stuff on my mind.... lol....

Im just glad i have a black car and dont feel the need to have aero skirts (less of an impact IMO) - especially as they do indeed appear cursed!
 
To put this to bed im pleased to say my car is sat in the garage with her cover on looking perfect.... thank god its not my car im showing pics of now and just some plastic pieces..... onwards and upwards but i WILL NOT ask again for these to be re-painted, i WILL NOT take my car to this place f**k that..... ill get these painted by simpson and swallow the loss.....

these will not be going anywhere near my car until they are sorted properly..... hopefully phil will give his guy a call so he can explain what he's seeing, cus quite frankly no flatting and polishing is going to make that look better they need to be repainted PROPERLY...... sadly i can say i Would not use these guys.... at all.....

its all good, they are plastic and can be repainted, lesson learned.....

going into garage to look at my car and be happy ive stuck to my thoughts and only have it touched by certain people....... now give me a week and ill show you guys what my boys over at simpson motorsport do..... i dont even need to say it, they will be PERFECT.

i agree, theirs no point taking these back now as faith is lost.... and they want me to fit them and take my car in f**k OFFF!!!! LOL not a chance...... These being handed to me in this fashion says it all really.......

im going to bow out on this and get them done properly..... lost money, lost time .... absolutely furious right now...... i need to get to bed and start again tomorrow....

siggghhhhhhh.... ill get these over to simpson this weekend.....

im out for the evening i think......

phil this is absolutely not your fault so dont take this the wrong way but, think you should never recommend these cowboys again.... they are not doing a good job at all imo.....
 
Not good mate i feel for you , they need to be repainted contaminates and hairs in the paint are not going to be mopped out.
On a lighter note where did you get that rug ,from the 80's :rofl:

it was given to me!! lol.... its a scruffy rug as its in front of an open fire that spits alot of s**t out..... so basically it gets burned!!! its purely their to protect my carpet.
 
I dont feel so bad about my skirts not turning up now .
I had a similer problem when i had my old bumper sprayed by a mate's bodyshop, a really bad colour match and over spray on the grills where there didnt take them out just masked them up , was totaly gutted but he did it at mate rates so what can you say.....
 
We've exchanged several pm''s and I'm as gutted as you. This is the real problem of recommendations.
These guys have sprayed dozens of items for me over the years and to the highest standard. Hell I can spray better than that....

For sure I won't recommend them, but it's sad this has happened and they can't fix it, but I understand.
