Aero Skirts best price???

I fitted aero skirts a few years ago to my M and I have no idea what needs trimmed on them. For me they fitted perfectly right out of the box, very easy job.

...... very wierd..... ill give the trimming a miss unless they need it.

well mine are ready.... but my company car is out of action so i cant collect them :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Some quick thinking needs to be done!! lol

Anyone who hasn't had them painted yet beware of the following: The coat of primer this come in is very thin. My bodyshop called me to let me know mine are done. But told me the primer they were in wasn't great. In the process of lightly keying the surface they went down to plastic! So he re-primed them himself.

Now he is a perfectionist and it wouldn't surprise me if they would be ok with the primer they were in, but if it were me, I'd be asking my bodyshop to do another coat

Anyway good news is mine should be with me on Thursday so as long as it isn't 6 foot of snow pictures on Thursday :driving:

looking at the primer on my set it looked very good, nicely applied and almost perfect, im not to fussed about how thin it is.... i would expect any proper bodyshop to do their own checks on this, after all this is their field of expertise so ill be advised by them :-) mine are just being machine polished as we speak.... just got my nail merc cls back so ill collect them when i get the call....its going to be a long evening with collecting these and then back tracking to get my son from the other side of b'ham!! Still its worth it!!! Cant wait for install :-)

The bodyshop I took mine to (and others have/are), is a specialist repairer and absolutely loves to work with oem parts from BMW.

The primer is thin, but described as a near perfect finish and requires very little prep work. Anyone who sands through this to base plastic is being too aggressive. Still each baodyshop has their prefered ways of doing things.

End result when fitted is what matters

nail hit on head.....

Cool well thats good, just thought I'd give a heads up. As I said my guy is REALLY picky - probably just wanted to do the primer himself so he knew it was good :)

Navid cheers ,basicly i called on wednesday and told i would get them on thursday , jamie called back and i was told there was a cock up and the skirts was left in reception and not pick up, so i would now get them on monday well its Tuesday now and i have just got home and no skirts :x Just called soppers and awaiting a call back from jamie better have a good reason ,iam very disapointed

i got my skirts back from the painters after the day from hell i finally got home and unboxed them and....... was left alittle dissapointed...... the paint finish on mine was far from perfect...... my heart sank to be honest :-( With my car being something ive spared NO expense at all i wouldnt fit these as they are.... FML.....
i cant see quite afew blemishes and even a hair in the paint...... the leading edges are rough...... i tired to convince myself they are ok but the more i looked, the more i could see these arent up to standard.......

beedub any pics , that sounds a poor show, if i was you get them to repaint them you will only be disapointed otherwise.

Jonny,

I did ask Jamie and he was very embarassed with the service you've received and said you should have it by tomorrow! Keep us posted and let me know if I can do anything to help.

i text him and he was Very nice about it...... he says that he couldnt flat them without them being on the car and that an hours worth of flat and polishing these will be perfect.... he wants to fit them to the car and drop the car to him..... Honestly???? thats not going to happen no way am i dropping my pride and joy off and leaving it with these guys,... at this point id rather loose the money and pay again elsewhere...... it says alot to me that they were even relased to me in this condition, which isnt bad by any means but is far from perfect.......

pretty gutted right now to be honest............................

f**k MY LIFE

Bloody hell starting to wonder is these side skirts are cursed :( I was trying to arrange a courier to bring mine back, thought I got it all sorted then they refunded the money saying they couldn't offer the £500 vlaue/insurance I had paid for :headbang: Try a load of others but the value pushes the price up to to around £60 :( So decided I'm going to drive down there and pick them up tomorrow evening instead. Do you think they'll fit in a Z4? ;)
