Im having mine sprayed next week.Ive done a search for a how to fit,the one ive seen makes sound a piece of cake ,yet reading various topics on here it sounds a bit of a lottery as to how easy it is.
Can anybody who has fitted them of late give a run down on fitting and any pifalls they came up against. Thanks in advance

I hope you tryed them on before painting :o because i had to shave here and their for a perfect fit!!!!

I am happy i did it.... :headbang:

its very easy.. but defo mess-upable for sure :-)

i really enjoyed installing these, then again i love doing as much DIY on the car as possible!!

Mine went on my 2007 without any problems. The gaskets that came in the box where all twisted up so I left them out in the sun for a few days to straighten them out. I also used a heat gun when installing the gaskets to make them soft and stick well. The installation took less than 10 minutes once the stock ones where off.

Any trimming is onyl needed for your own peace of mind. The bit that doesnt quite fit is behind the door shut so makes no difference visually to the outside and you can only see it if you peek through the door hinge.

Personally I decided to leave mine alone, one because I didn't trust myself to do it perfectly and two when I come to sell the car, these will come off to be sold seperately so I want them to appeal to all potential Z4 owners. You trim it you're only going to only be able to sell them to M owners, and some of them may not be happy to buy some you've took a knife too :)

Probably the low camera angle and shadows in the wheel wells make it look taller.
It does have the sport suspension, which lowers is a little.
