Aero side skirts group-buy anyone?

Looks like I'm in for 2 sets of unprimed (with Ranski)
Do we order direct, go via the group buy?
We want to support the volume discounts everyone wants, but equally get them ordered now.

I suppose you can collect them from your local dealers F.O.C for the same price then ...

Explain? Do BMW transfer parts to a local dealer FOC? If so we can have sets dropped at Sytner Sutton, all of 5 mins from my house

Yes, parts are transferred within the network FOC as I have picked and chosen lots of bits from different dealers in the past doing the satnav retrofits.

Out of interest I will drop in a paint shop that opened recently in my area and ask how much to paint the two bits of plastic. If the unpainted units are indeed £240 (perhaps minus the usual 10% discount on top), and VAT deductable, it might become interesting to replace mine with the new ones.

And me and me!!!!!!

Ive emailed Joe asking for a quote for 2 sets of primed skirts - also asking these to be delivered to my local dealer to either me or CJ can pickup - havent had a response yet, but will chase tomorrow

I think because there was no real discount / difference in sourcing ourselves + the fact it's cheaper to get them painted locally

So much for the group buy and benefits, there seem to be none.

Seems to me the issue is around the cost of dealer painting.

If you take the 10 group buy at £483 and primed can be supplied at £240, then painting is being charged out at around £243 per set.

If the going rate for painting is £100 a set locally (even if it were £150 or £200), then the economics drive the buyer to primed.

Should BMW be able to bang them out at £150 painted plus parts, then I think everyone would go with it that way.

Personally as you'll see from my threads and PM's I'm fully supportive of the group buy concept aif it works s it takes time and is hard work.

The painting charge is excessive especially as they just farm it out anyway. They're obviously creaming some money on top.

Shame it isn't really economical unless we have 20+ and judging by the lack of interest so far I very much doubt we'll be getting anywhere near that. I'm going to get primed sides myself now and have them done locally.
