Aero side skirts group-buy anyone?

ViewfromtheTent.jpg

Aero sides on non M ........ but with the Aero Kit... Mine came with them some might like it some might not....

OK quick update. BMW do not factory paint these optionally now so we have to get a quote for primed skirts and then a quote on top for painting. Will get back with further info as soon as it becomes available!

Seeing ZermattV's blue Z4 i think the aero side skirts may need the aero bumper to round off the look

thoughts?

If they don't come factory painted then I'm happy to get it in primer only as I use a superb painter who will charge me peanuts to do an outstanding job.

Oh, and Flux will make no charge for new stills :D

Not for me  Not a fan of the aero bumper, well love it from the front, but too protruding at the bottom for me :D

But its a rare kit, and does look nice in the flesh.

OK I'm getting quotes for painted, primed only and also quotes for the fittings although I suspect most people will just make use of their existing clips. Hopefully will have some quotes back tomorrow.

...do it, they really fill out the rear arches :D

Thanks for the link BMWZ4MC. That really is a stunning car you have there. I think on the MC interlagos blue is my favourite colour

Completly unrelated , is your car lowered?? If so do u get rub on full compression dips or full lock??

Righteo. Got the first quote back from Bob@Cooper. As BMW do not offer these pre-painted the prices include painting by a reputable shop and will be arranged by Bob. Pricing as follows:

To supply 2 x Aero Skirts in primer £240.00
To supply 2 x Aero Skirts Painted £522.00
Fitting kit for either of the above £40.00

* Carriage dependant on location. All prices include VAT *

I would suggest when posting this information that you make it very clear that the painted skirts are being painted locally and NOT supplied painted from BMW.

The following conditions will apply:

Minimum order quantity is 5 pairs of skirts.
Orders will need to be paid in full in advance.
Deadline for this offer is 29th October 2010.

If you require any further information please feel free to give me a call on 01622 717222

I'm waiting for Joe@Soper to get back to me, but I suspect the prices won't be far off... I'm thinking I might go for primed skirts and get them painted locally. Anyone else?

Playalistic,

Yes for me.

Agree with your decision - primed and painted locally + fitting kit. Will await Joes prices before final decision. Thanks for the effort you are putting in with this

Im so tempted to pull the trigger on a set....... i am feeling slightly guilty after spending so much money on car bits.

Isn't that about double of the previous group buy where it was 290 painted?

Hi Russell,
With regard to the comments on the forum regarding aerodynamic skirts I have spoken with BMW and can offer the following:
Pair of side skirts painted to match existing colour:

RRP Inc VAT £401.28 per pair.

3 orders (i.e. 3 Pairs) £300.96 per pair.

6 orders (i.e. 6 Pairs) £290.92 per pair.

Yep. I had noted that. Must be down to BMW not being able to paint them at the factory. Shows what a massive bargain they got back then doesn't it?!

Why does it cost £282 to paint 2 plastic pieces that are already in primer ?

Depends on who is painting them. I can get them done for about £100 or hopefully less if he has some paint left from my bumper :D
