looking to change the aerial in my car shortly just wondering if its a major job as a lot of people have changed to stubby ones.

changing the whole thing not the screw on mast.

Why the whole thing ? I am no engineer, but I guess you'll need to strip the boot lining out to get to the nut / bolt holding the base to the wing... I have no idea how much work that is I'm afraid. Someone will though...

Quick change to stubby is easiest. Can't see why you would want to change the base of the aerial? What would be the benefit?

yes jvc unit had it years been in 4 previous cars, got the facia and leads now all left to change aerial.

dab radio now fitted, facia plate is pure crap does not sit flush to dashboard have seen others like this also.Have not changed the aerial but fitted it inside dashboard just hope reception isnt too bad, luckily its the amplified type so I may have got away without stripping all the boot trim and having to run the dab cable through the cabin. My fingers are crossed. Speakers next.
