Tbh, the ## could effect the value greatly, as in looks aesthetically better with say 00 than randoms like 27, 58 etc

I bid on MRZ444 at a dvla auction about a couple of years ago it went for about £550 plus taxes there’s a guy trying to flog it for a lot more at least 1k on eBay the last year and no takers

I think the main issue is that only just over 600 MRs made it to the UK, so it has a limited market.

At least that is an ageless plate, three letters three numbers, this one must be an Irish plate 3 letters 4 numbers

It’s worth what ever someone wants to pay for it but I suspect that would only be a couple of hundred quid at most. There are only two plates I would spend money on and unfortunately this isn’t one of them

Nail. Hit. Head.

MRZ 444 is a dateless plate so will always be valuable.

First of all OP's plate is illegal the way he has phrased it. It's also an irish plate if it's the one others are talking about. So it's worth pretty much nothing as it's nothing special.

How are we meant to value a partial plate?

However the answer is, undoubtedly less than you think.

An illegal plate is worth £0

MR Z4 ### is illegally spaced so it's easy to value it.

Not if you fancy yourself as Mister Zed 4.

I hadn't thought of that.

I think I'd rather be MCZ4 though, seeing as my dad was Scottish!

MRZ449 is currently available on DVLA for £399 including fees. And no one has bought it yet.

Yours is probably worth £200 at best.

The big problem is brokers inflating valuations to get you to list with their website, they won't actually buy it, even at a percentage of the valuation! In reality 99% of numbers sit unsold on these sites for YEARS, I had one one listed that I forgot about and had been sold with the car nearly 5 years ago, I recently got a low-ball offer via the broker confirming my suspicion that sale prices are about 25%-30% of valuation.

Hi,

I have a number plate that i am considering selling MR Z4 0##.

How much do you think someone would buy it for?
Is it currently on your car, or on retention certificate?
That £80 fee will make a difference - on retention I'd say £200 to sell it, £300 if you are prepared to wait for possibly a long time. Unless you fall lucky.

The valuation poll has a theme, I'd identify the person valuing it at £1,000 plus and see if they want it.... quickly!
