Advise on buying used Z4's

After a few years of dreaming, I am hoping to buy a used Z4 in the next few months. I will probably test a few, but think I am looking at the 2.5l. I expect I will be looking at the early models of 03-05 due to the obvious budget constraints, so I was wondering if there are any particular issues with the cars of around this age that I should look out for? For example, I know certain other cars seem to always need new cam-belts at certain mileage, or I have read elsewhere on this forum that the rear shocks need replacing at some point and there were problems with hood motors.

Any advice of what to look out for, what might be expected to go wrong or any other little gems of advice greatly appreciated.

Welcome the 3.0 is not much more to run so think about it really glad i went 3.0.

Expensive one to look out for is sticky steering do a search your looking at a 2k bill

Rear springs snap on all Z4 its a common prob.

Had both these probs on mine but got the Steering done for £200 as a goodwill gesture.

Good luck in your search and hold out for the right car there are plenty out there weekend toys and a good time to buy.
