I have a few stone chips on the leading edge of the bonnet and one nasty bugger a bit higher up. I could get a front end resplrayed but that seems a bit OTT.

I spotted this on the interweb. Any one used it?

I've touched up bit's and bobbs on most of my cars over the years. But the bonnet of my beloved Z4MR, is not most of my cars. It needs to look right when finished. 8)

The video of Chipex makes it look easy but I think it's a tad tougher than they make out.

I've been tempted a few times on a previous car but never bothered.

You'd be better off buying some touch up paint, some 2500/3000 grit wet n dry and doing it yourself, takes some balls though and you'll need a DA polisher to get rid of the wet n dry rubbing down marks.

I have used a Chipex kit before and it worked really well. As with everything just prepare well and take your time. With this system you can keep removing and reapplying within the setting window if you are not happy with the result. I liked it.

Haven't tried the other one so don't know about it.

I have on the company car. Thought it was the best place to test

Works well. Tried on the XFR I did some touching up on. Was harder on veritcal surface. Although there was little roof to work as the panel surface was so small so may have had something to do with it.

Cheers for that.

I've used paints4U and chipex with reasonable results BUT when I had a bad scratch re-done by a pro-repairer the paint in the kit wasn't compatible with pro-repairers paint and initially caused problems with reactions.

I now use a local scratch and dent guy who gets visually undetectable results at very reasonable prices, I'm sure someone with more skill and patience than I have can get 100% results with kits but I was always slightly disappointed so don't use them now.
