Will the job offer you progression prospects or the ability to learn new things? Will it stimulate your mind and will it allow you to do something later in life which you want to get to.
These are the pertinent questions. I have been with my current company for 5 years now (im only 28) and I have stayed with them because:
1) Its very local to home
2) I save buckets of money on commuting (I can walk if I wish)
3) I save buckets of money by living with my family
4) I have most evenings and weekends free and a higher quality of life
5) I get pushed a LOT of responsibility as its a small-medium sized company
6) I have been thrown in the deep end of technology and work I would never have experienced eslewhere
7) I have built good relationships with the people I work with
8) The pension scheme offers employee contribution of 5%
9) They offer free medical cover
10) I was internally selected for promotion without an application
11) I have a say in some of the direction of the company
12) People actually care about you as an individual
13) There is give and take
14) Its close to transport links if I want to go elsewhere after work
15) Theres a reasonable social ethos to the people there (I play football, badminton, go to the pub, work based fun days and quiz nights, xmas parties, etc)
If any of the above is applicable and high on your priority list then consider it. If not ignore it. Relocating / commuting is a massive cost, depreciation on quality of life and can be draining so factor that in to the value of the extra few £k and how much you will save and what that will buy you (what you want to spend it on is also important).
Lots to think about. Yes I think too much..
Hope this helps..
