Advice / Views - Spoiler & Headrest Hoops

Hi all,

If anyone has followed my headlight journey, you will understand that I am not a quick decision maker when toying with mods!

N.B - the OEM Headlights are tucked away now in the loft so retro fit can be considered always - I love the Sonar's

Headrest Hoops - for a change, this is definitely happening - I have purchased another set from Ebay (want to keep originals) and I will be getting them sprayed Piano Black!

Spoiler - I have purchased a spoiler. However, members I need your honest views. If you all owned a White unmolested very rare 3.0L Z4 E85, 2004, with only 30,000 mileage would you fit one and what would you choose?. I am considering the options,

There are 5 options:-

1) Paint it all white
2) Paint it all black
3) Paint it white, with full black strip
4) Paint it white, with central black strip
5) Leave the spoiler in the shed!

Here are some images - what do you reckon folks ?

Tomo

So....I like the spoiler, because I have one.

Option 1 would be my choice. I say this because option 2 is definitely "NO" and I don't understand options 3 & 4, but if you're going to introduce black bits they surely have to extend beyond the spoiler?

Headrest hoops will be black of course and against the white (with black roof), the white spoiler with a back central black paint job may look very tidy?

Its a tricky one. My spoiler came with the car and I really like it, but I often ask myself if would I have fitted one if it wasn't already on the car :scratchhead:
Not much help, I know.

Hoops Arrived (few clips missing) ready for respray in Piano Black.
Spoiler arrived = Decision time!

Thinking the same. Now I have bought the damn thing (£90) - it has to be sprayed and I am thinking plain white. Then use some very light adhesive and test the look - if it looks odd it's option 5 and stays bubble wrapped in the loft or shed!

The Mrs is almost a keen Zed follower and says "if the spoiler goes on - go plain white, why introduce any black?"

Any mods can be reversed of course - Toughy!

Hi
Like RickRob I too fitted the aero spoiler as I love it, looking at yours in white I do like it with the black accent at the back edge, but if you are unsure don't do it as it will make a hell of a mess trying to remove it.

Unless you get it painted then test fit it with something that is easily removed should you not like the look.

Stuart

For me it would be all white if you really wanted to fit it but I think the z looks better without

Divisive those rear spoilers
You are adding black bits with the roll hoops & clearly heading for a bespoke look so id be going for No4 .
I wasn't a fan of any spoiler but each time i see a Z with the aero one fitted i think they look great :) its a gen BMW styled piece so don't be afraid to fit it

Confused Dot Com :D :D :D :D :D

I liked Option 4 but it is a really rare 3.0 White E85 - and the Mrs is now getting involved - always a bad sign!

All mods can be reversed which is why I will be keeping the OEM Lights, Hoops (dash eventually) but the spoiler is so MARMITE!

Its now down to:-

Option 1, 4 or 5!

Paint it white with a central black strip and then put it in the shed. That way you have covered 2/3rds of your remaining options! :P

Not sure why it matters that it's 'really rare'? It's just a white Z4 regardless of what accessories you add, and you've made them all reversible so you can switch back to OEM at any time (although as Mr Wilks pointed out, the spoiler is OEM so it's not like you've gone for something that wasn't available from the factory).
Not putting down your Zed in any way (it looks lovely) but I don't think rarity is a factor when determining whether to do/fit these mods?
I think mine may be the only 2.5Si from the UK in the country, but it's still just a 2.5Si.... I hope you understand what I'm trying to say? (I seldom do  )

Option 6, get a new camera, no offence chief, but your photos suck badly.. :)

Nice car though, id go for painting them all white. (followed closely with white and inner black)

can't wait to see what you do :)

good luck.

i think they're photos of a video/monitor/screen/tablet etc so not the camera necessarily. Good enough to see what the different options would look like.
