Advice - strongly considering my first E85

Not sure if anyone said but the boot floor looks really dirty. Perhaps something just spilled in there or a leak?
Also if it’s carbon black, that is a lovely colour. Under the bonnet on the top left it will say Carbon Schwartz.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

That looks like a good deal for a facelift car and I love those Bi-Colour seats! If it is so near why not go and try it, then you'll know if you can live with a 2.0 engine?

Personally I love the straight 6s as they have always been one of the Z4's unique features compared to other 2 seaters but it might work for you.

Thank you! It’s being driven to me on Monday to have a test drive so I will see how I get on with it. I’m excited as I’ve never driven a roadster before!

If you buy it you will always wonder what the 6 cylinder is like. I wouldn't bother with the 4 pot and do like I did and buy the 2.5i on the basis that it fitted neatly between the available range. Also when I was looking nearly all the 3 litres had coverage enormous mileages whereas lower miles 2.5i are easier to find. Also the preface lift 2.5i had more power than the facelift 2.5i albeit that had 6 gears.

Welcome along. Looks a tidy wee z- I would check the boot for leaks and around the battery (in the boot) to make sure all is dry based on the stain on the carpet. Where are you based?

By the way, anyone got any experience in fixing a broken electric motor? I've seen other threads talking about replacing the part and someone mentioned that it wasn't an expensive part. There's an alternative vehicle with lower mileage that is my back up but the roof only works manually. Thanks.

One other thing to check when you go to see it is to get on the floor and try and see under the car with a torch. Look through the wheels at the suspension and wheel arches use a camera held under the car to help get a view. Try and see as much of the underside metal work as possible. I went to see one car that looked great on paper and in the photos but once underneath there was a shocking amount of corrosion (I politely walked away).

So I bought it and I love it!

Bigwinn has already suggested a Bluetooth audio music connector and I’m looking at an iPhone mount like this for the dashboard > MagSafe mount

Anyone got any good suggestions for accessories?

Anyone got any good suggestions for accessories?:headbang:That is the worst thing you can say on here, I hope you have a load of money:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:What car did you get in the end?

Congratulations on becoming a Z4 owner.

But that's a dangerous question to ask - we are skilled on here at helping empty members' wallets! Aero sills, hardtop, Gaptech, CSL wheels - the list goes on.

Although getting rid of the Clutch Delay Valve is a cheap modification.

Congratulations, I thought you must have bought it as dropped off autotrader.
Enjoy and more pictures when you can. 👍🏻

I don't mind stupid questions but what benefit does that bring?

Yes, it was in great condition and the wife and I have spent a couple of hours cruising around in our very first convertible. It could do with a little more power at times but not that I mind. It's funnily enough my first ever manual BMW after owning about 6 in 15 years!

Oh, the original one that I posted. There was some late interest, so I moved there and then to get it done. I'm not sure if anyone on this board tried to gazump me?!

Can anyone recommend a good ebay account that sells BMW badges? Mine is basically falling off the front bonnet.
