Looks nice but as previously stated you can't really tell until you see it in the flesh. Many years ago I drove 250 miles to look at a car that I was assured was mint, needless to say it had many problems so I wasted a day's holiday and a lot of fuel. I vowed never to view a car so far away.

Personally, I wouldn't bother, too many questions marks and just too far to go, you're taking all the risk if it isn't as good as they say it is. If they shipped it to within driving distance then worth a look otherwise wait, there is always another car that will come up. Good luck with whatever you do.

I'm in Dundee, the local auction house is:

https://stock.morrisleslie.com/stock/?sale=vehicle

Although I think they're pulling your leg by saying that's where they're sending it. Either that or an opening for a haggle. I couldn't see this car on Arnold's website, is it still for sale?

why? its a 10/11 year old z4 coupe - not something AC usually retail, they mainly deal in 1/2 year old ex rental cars - not specialist cars - if its been sat on the forecourt for a few week it'll be taking up valuable space and will be off to the nearest BCA

I paid 300 for a reserve on it and they have taken 2 weeks now to get it a new MOT, apparently struggling to find a headlight. I have been heavily advised to leave it so i think i will so sad. My heart was set on it.

Shame you feel that way - but now I'm wondering if I fancy a day trip North of the border.

Feels expensive. 56k is low, but I'd probably rather better cared for and higher mileage if it were me. Essentially it probably boils down to whether red is worth it for you.

For reference, I changed hands on a FSH 90k car with 12 months warranty from a dealer for £7,900 about 6 months back. It was up for about £10k originally, but the demand for these cars is small and it's a buyer's market. Be prepared to walk.

From what i am reading, people will chew off your right hand for a RED low miles z4c. If i buy it even at 9500 spend £2000 this year fixing whatever then i have a for £11500 a good condition red coupe. i think i could easily sell for an increase especially if i share the journey on the forum here. Already know 3 guys who would be interested. Im in a f**k it go for it state of mind. The RAC advanced inspection £300 is booked for monday ill upload the results document and seek advice but yea i think i may risk it for red.. Only 1 guy on this forum has a red coupe and his is insane StigJ 'Hellrot'.

good on ya - go for it fella  I hope the inspection goes well
I paid well over the odds for my Hellrot 3.0si roadster on 34,000 miles back in June 2015 and haven't regretted a single pound I spent :driving:

MY MAN!

As has been said before on this thread, you will be hard pressed to find a 10+ year old Z4 that does not have some minor issues. An optimistic 'specialist' would be trying to retain a 56k car at about £12k so the price looks good. I paid £8300 in August for a 72k Coupe and considered that a bargain price to get a lower mileage car even if it came with a few cosmetic issues (most were 90-100k mileage for £9-10k price and turned out quite rough anyway when I went to view them at traders).

The glovebox issue is not uncommon and can be fixed with second hand parts, and for all we know the headlight condensation could be a new issue caused by the dealer getting over enthusiastic with the steam cleaner, and probably only needs drying out and resealing.

Good luck for Monday!

Chris

Ill share the journey with everyone and do some youtube videos along the way. Hopefully i can give back some information like others have done to help me.

Just trying to offer a balanced opinion - everyone here is going to like to think their cars are worth the moon and are in high demand. It's a microcosm and it helps people to sleep at night and so on.

Outside of these circles, demand is small and I'd say you will have trouble shifting it at that price. Indeed - the dealer seems to be having trouble shifting it at that price. Just go in with your eyes open and try to judge the situation dispassionately. It's all I'm saying.

Silly question but why not just wrap another car? If you could find one in any colour, that's otherwise perfect; wrapping is comparatively cheap and these days the finish and longevity that you can get is fantastic.
