Advice Please - Private Plate Sale

I have a private plate which used to be on my wifes Z4 which is now on a retention certificate and I am not sure what to put it up for sale at. The plate is R 15 KYX which looks like RISKY X or RISKY KISS?

Any ideas where I should try and sell it (e-bay reserve fees are shockingly high) and what I should realistically expect to get for it?

What did you pay for it? That should be a good place to start, funny things number plates it's more what they're worth to the buyer.

I bought it when it was first released by the DVLA back in the 1990's and it has been on a range of cars since. I'm hoping that the Risky Kiss bit may appeal to some rich sugar daddy looking for a plate for his mistress, or vice-versa (wasn't why I bought it!).

....a little bit of back peddling there, me thinks..... :poke:

You can get a value for it using one of the sites that comes up when you google 'private plate valuation' but its very much a waiting game to sell the thing; values are also highly subjective. 4NDY is priceless to an Andy but worthless to me.

I bought an M3 with M111BDS in 2006; I sold the plate on an M3 forum after a few weeks, but It's STILL listed on newreg.co.uk. They haven't sent through a single enquiry in 5 years.

i would say what ever you paid, divide by either 2 or 3, then minus some more
