Advice please - performance BMW BBK?

Hi all

Pl can I get some advice? I'm after some better stopping power perhaps for the occasional track day. I've looked into the performance BMW kit but there is nothing officially available for e89 23i. I have seen quite a few use e90 kit but front only due to lack of compatibility with rear e brake. I have seen one person use f30 kit which I think is compatible with e brake.

Does anyone know if the above is correct and if so part numbers for e90 / f30 kit? Also does anyone have any recommendations for where I can purchase the kit from?

TIA

wow just found the thread - still not sure which is the best option to go for the 23i ... hmmm

very tasty pics for the 35is on page 3 tho...

Have you considered the 35i and 35is brakes? Bigger brakes and calipers and you could fit some upgraded discs and pads.

thats a great suggestion and yes i have considered it. the rear is compatible with ebrake. the front im comtemplating the pbmw kit due to the sexiness of the calipers

some on z4post have recommended the e90 pbmw kit as cheaper and similar effect over the cost of the f30 kit....

well i managed to source the e90 bbk front from a bmw dealership in sotswolds as the're doing a 15% off atm on performance parts so about £935 for front kit. i dont think the price hike was worth it for the f30 kit. also the e90 is 6 pot brembo and so why spend unnecessarily imo. i think im just going to paint rear calipers to match and buy a set of mtec rear grooved drilled discs to match the performance discs... the rear 35is upgrade is quite costly so not worth it for me

i spoke to Karl on 01432375564 he was by far the most helpful out of all the people i have contacted

hope thats useful :D

Hi Theivz

Just making sure I have the right BMW part number before I order the brake kit, is this the right one, the one you fitted, straight swap? What size is the disc? Am I right in thinking its 370mm? Cheers.

hi mate

i actually havent ordered the kit yet. i am hoping to do so before the offers ends. from reading the thread above on zpost the 370 mm diam discs are the right size for eu cars which is pretty cool as its a nice upgrade over stock on the 23i :D. that is the right kit though afaik

Hi Theivz

Just had another read on various forums about the Yellow BMW Perfromance brakes, the disc size is not 370, it is 338. Can anyone confirm this?
