Advice on selling Cartier jewellery

As many of you know I've been ill for a few months now and just had another operation (only another two major ones to come this summer) and not really worked since my accident.

Have toyed with selling the SLK but going to wait and see if I can get my licence back first next month.

I got divorced two years ago and as part of the settlement I wanted my ex wife's Cartier diamond wedding rings back. And I have had them ever since and now thinking of selling them. Other than a pawn shop (which will offer me a fraction of the £9000 they are worth) anyone got any other ideas? I've got receipts so no issues there.

Thanks guys

Sorry to hear about your accident and operation, life really is precious.
Is there no dedicated jewellery selling website?
Why not try selling here? A few pics and a brief description and you have quite a wide audience. I guess most people might want an independent evaluation but these are minor issues that can be resolved.
My wife is always interested in Jewellery so I shall keep an eye out!!

Hi buddy hang in there, I know from personal experience how hard life can be when you are in constant pain, and waiting for operations.Sorry I can't help with where to sell the jewellery tho. Hopefully you will get back on the road soon with the possible return of your license. I have recently bought an 2014 SLK, it's as close to a 'sports' car as my injuries will let me drive without major discomfort ( even with the AMG sports suspension set up) Maybe we should start an Exclusive club on here for Morphine taking SLK owners who used to have Z4s...

years of experience in antiques trade and as contractor to National auction house. you say they are worth 9k or cost 9k ? two ifferent things as modern jewellery sold on massive (500%) mark up. saying that , quality always sells , there is no name finer than cartier so will be avid collectors everywhere. the best option for selling is through one of the top three auction houses , Bonhams, Christies or sothebys. any one them will give you a free up to date valuation with a view to selling on your behalf. you will pay commission on the sale of approx 20% ,... But you get the exposure to the top buyers and the jewellery will make its true value. definately the best way to go.you go to one dealer and you will have one offer only. could put you in touch with Bonhams top jewellery expert if you like, she travels between all the branches doing valuations and will advise the best sale location for your items.
