I'd ask Mr Wilkes, he was a font of knowledge for me when I bought my 224's

On Alpinas which have these sized wheels (albeit with a higher offset), front tyres would be 235 x 35 and rears 265 x 30.

I wouldn't risk 235 on 8.5j et35 :? on full lock & especially on compression I reckon you would have some rubbing on arch liner
Ideally go 215 possibly 225 will be ok ? Small differences can make the difference on the fronts
Rears you won't have any concerns with & could go 265 35 no trouble
To be sure I think "Ben g" & "dav the wheel nut " have both run very similar spec 19s on their Se roady's , worth a pm to either

Yep running on 225/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rears on 8.5 and 9.5 wheels
As Mr Wilks said you are playing with small margins so would not risk a 235 front width

Don't people think that 225/35 is a little too stretched on an 8.5j wheel? That's what I had on mine initially but I replaced them with 235s as I thought they were a little too stretched. The 235s look perfect.

Totally agree. The 235's work well on that sized rim

Mine are 8.5j ET 38 19" wheels and I found the following-

With a 225/35 tyre and 5mm spacer there was no rubbing but I didn't like the tyre stretch
With a 235/35 tyre and 5mm spacer, it looked much better but the tyre rubbed the wheel arch liner on speed bumps etc
With a 235/35 tyre and no spacer, it looks good and doesn't rub. Perfect!

With your ET it might be worth going for the 225 just to make sure of no rubbing.
