Advice Needed!

£800‐£1000. Not seen a hardtop in toledo blue before so may be worth closer to £1000 but the downside is you're restricted to Toledo blue owners wanting to buy. So could be worth £800 to get it sold.

Okay - good to know. Have had a quick look at the MOT history of the car, and £6000 still seems quite a lot even when factoring in the hardtop? I have heard the elipsoid wheels are also quite popular but don't personally like them; could this be another reason for the seemingly inflated price? I am not too sure...

Cheers for the help

I've also never bought a car just for the colour but i have rejected ones because i didn't like the colour. I really don't like that gold colour they used!

Early Z4's are getting cheaper because they are old, do poor MPG (compared to more modern cars) and the road tax is climbing as well. Mine is £415 this year.

I think I am just a little bit fussy haha! Jokes aside, I would go for a better maintained car over a shitbox anyday, but ideally would be a certain colour. I am open to grey if it is a good spec and well-maintained also.

Are blue cars really this rare? I am struggling to find any that aren't either over-budget or poorly maintained.

As soon as you buy one the market will be flooded with blue cars. It's always the way

Welcome to the world of used cars!
You will find a good one, in Blue, if you are patient. This forum is probably the best bet to find a well looked after car (although not always at the cheapest prices). The rest of the used car industry is like the Wild West IMO.

I agree about the wild west comment, especially Facebook marketplace! Full of questionable cars...

Time to play the waiting game haha

Just curious, how popular are the style 135 wheels?

This is exactly what I fear! Need to just accept it if I want to find a car this year! haha

Wait for what you desire.
I've got a thing for silver cars, and my last 3 have been blue, blue and black. Everytime I look at them I say to myself they'd look better in silver.
I love my Montego blue coupe, I really do. But wish it was silver.

Thank you for this - I almost went to buy a nice black example a few days ago but something just didn't feel right... (also helps that I have become more informed thanks to the great community on this website, and now know I can get a lot more car for my money than that one! haha).

Will make a post when I eventually find the right one

My first Z4 had them (aka MV2s) and I didn't mind them, but they were a PITA to clean and were quite common as they were fitted to other BMWs - like my nephews' E46 325i Sport.

Good luck finding your Blue Z4.

I'm the opposite, I really don't want silver cars.

Maybe because I've had quite a few in the past, including a Titanium Silver 1 Series for over 6 years before I bought my first Z4 and I wanted a change.

And while I love my Silver Grey MC I wish it was Imola Red or Interlagos Blue.

Do you ever get buyer's remorse?

I like a unique colour, but love grey with the style 135 wheels... Whatever comes up first that ticks all the boxes shall be the car I go for!

Not yet, but I have had sellers' remorse twice!

Once when I foolishly sold my first E86 and again when I sold my Imola Red E46 325ti Sport Compact.

I can live with my Silver Grey Z4 because it has Imola Red seats, and isn't Titanium Silver.

Assuming it's the one in your pfp of course, it looks very nice! More character than the other silvers...

Is the MC not like a better E86 or am I being stupid?

Yes it is that one.

The MC has the 3.2 litre engine from the E46 M3 so 343bhp instead of 265bhp for the 3.0Si, no run-flats, an LSD and Hydraulic PAS instead of Electric PAS - and much bigger bills!

Never buyers remorse, but I do always see silver coupes and think what if.
(Even Mr T's silver at Ultimate BMW, that desperately needs a good polish and wax! :P  )

I've had a few silver cars and love the way they show the crease lines and shadows, also they're very easy to keep clean and hide imperfections.
For me it's personal and functional.

But, I look always at Montego Blue catches the sunshine and admire the colour.

Well given the weather on the day I'm glad I didn't bother!
