Advice Needed..Z4 sDrive 23i

Hi Everyone!

I apologise if this is a ridiculous question, or if I have posted in the wrong place (I am new here!). However, I would be grateful for any advice.

I have a white Z4 sDrive 23i 2010. I love my car to bits (it's called Snoopy - white with a long nose) and am loathed to sell it, but am likely moving abroad so can't really drive a right hand drive in Europe. A few people have said to me "oh, but should you sell it, because maybe it will be worth something in the future"? I presumed it would not, and would love to keep it if money wasn't any issue.

If anyone would be able to shed any light on whether there is any chance it would be worth anything in the future, I would be really grateful.

Thank you in advance!

Em x :)

Whilst a very nice car Em it’s not worth keeping for any financial reason. There are plenty out there to choose from, it’s not a 35i /is which are lower in numbers and the top of the tree with E89’s so to speak and even these are not really going to appreciate, they may hold their money more than other E89’s but none of them are an investment. Sell, take the money, and buy another if things change, they’ll always be some for you. All imho obvs.

Totally agree with John-e89
Maybe in 40 years it may be worth something but realistically sell it and buy another when you move

Not much more to be said, great car but not an appreciating classic, also I wouldn't be too concerned about driving it in Europe, it would soon become second nature and If you love the car then maybe its worth keeping

Hi from another Snoopy owner... with all new conventional petrol and diesel cars being set to be banned from sale in 2030 in the UK, I wonder what effect/restrictions will there be on the used car market/ownership... maybe none of our Z4s will be worth much after then. :(

Thank you, all! Your replies are much appreciated.

Decision made...now to come to terms with my loss :(

Maybe an 1M Coupe will make me feel better! Who knows!

As others have said it will be a very long time before values settle or maybe creep up on the E89 and particularly the 23i since so many were made, if it was the 30i or 35i/s might be a slightly different story. On the other hand I have a UK RHD car in Spain and I use it every day, took me a two or three days to get totally comfortable driving a RHD here but now I have no issues with it. Cars here in Europe are very expensive and you really don't get much for your money so you may want to consider keeping it and bringing it over.

Like practically every petrol/diesel car it is hardly likely to become collectable or have any significant rise in value.
As petrol/diesel becomes less socially acceptable so will anything that represents that lifestyle. In addition the drop in demand for fuel will result in huge production drops. Less availability, less spares, less 'garages' etc all will combine to make running a petrol car the terriitory of the very wealthy.
Hard times ahead for us petrol heads
