Advice needed on z4 coupe

Hi all

I have just joined the forum as I am thinking of getting a z4 coupe. It needs to be an auto, and am ideally looking for low mileage in a dark colour. I have seen this for sale on autotrader, any views as to price and what to look for much appreciated.

Nachtblau is a great colour as is the champagne leather.... But... I personally would hold out for a sport spec and not the SE, with sport you get the much better seats, better steering wheel and better suspension

My first Z was an se spec and as much as I liked it the upgrade to sport spec is well worth it

Just noticed the autotrader advert is claiming that to be a sport, doesn't look like it to me but maybe means something different on coupes than roadsters?

Its advertised as a Sport Si and think it is as it has the Si badge on the side and the sport button next to the gearshift or is there something else I should be looking for

Usual dealer description "it's a sports car" so everything is sport NOT. :x
Saw this so many times when I was looking for my present 3.0Si that has got the sport goodies I wanted.

There's 2 versions of the 3.0si (at least in the roadster I'm guessing the coupe is the same

Si Sport - has sports seats sports suspension and sport steering wheel
Si Se - has none of the above (unless specifically specified individually from new)

They all have the sport button (even manual)

Confirmed - roadsters & coupes are the same.

That coupe advertised is not a Sport, it's definitely an SE.

Genius is right, it's worth holding out for a proper Sport - better (thicker) steering wheel, sport seats that really hold you in the corners, lower ride with less rolling in the corners and 18" wheels.

Of course if it's a comfortable cruiser you're looking for then it might fit the bill (still need 18"'s on it though)

Gd luck

Don't forget that the SE models can be specced from new with as many sport goodies as you like (as my car was) in which case the sport holds no advantage as they drive the same & have the same engine output.

Very true Rob -- mine was an SE that had electric sport seats from new & has had M sport MFSW, 18" ellipsoids & sports suspension retro fitted. So in effect it's now a sport, only difference being the colour of the headlining.

That advert is a pure SE though

As others have said, those photos are definitely NOT of a Sport as Sport seats have much more pronounced side bolsters and the extendable bit at the front of the seat squab.

However as someone said the engine is exactly the same in an SE as a Sport, so it depends a bit exactly what you want - that one will be just as quick but maybe not as much fun on a quiet B road. :?

Price seems a bit strong to me, but you are certainly going to struggle to find many with that sort of mileage (assuming it is genuine) so a comparison is tricky! If mileage is a major factor for you it may be worth considering - you could always find some 18 inch wheels and possibly Sport seats if you really wanted them.

Nearly forgot but I like that colour scheme; good luck whatever you decide!

Same as mine Stuart-brother from a different mother!

As above, definitely an SE that autotrader car. Select the options you want and hold out for as close to it as possible. Sounds like you wanted my old car, unfortunately I sold it last year!
