Advice needed on car cover

Help!collecting my zed tomorrow evening from main dealer so thought I could wrangle a good price for one at the same time?
The zed will be on drive most week days and used at weekends, some trees about so thinking of the dreaded sap and bird crap. Am I better leaving uncovered or covered? Full cover or just roof protection? Do they mark up the paint work? I had a Saab Rag top some years ago and made the mistake of covering for 3 weeks while out the country, it made a right mess of the wheel archies any any other high spots by rubbing away polish/laquer, I think its the wind that causes it to rub? never did manage to sort it properly. May have just been the type of cover I had?
Any one using covers, are they good? Heeelllpppp! :headbang:
 
Like you say, I'm not sure they don't do more harm than good. Maybe if there's tree debris or the like, or in the very worst weather perhaps.

I bought an official full cover for my Z4 from BMW and its such a good fit and has a very soft lining to the underside of the cover. It has vents for the roof to allow it to breathe and a nice silver finish to the outside of the cover...

It cost me £115 from my dealer and it really is worth the money - other covers (ie. not from BMW) will cause damage and wont fit properly, this fits like a glove and I know it wont blow off in the wind. It also had a anti-stealing device fitted to the cover, a little toggle that you lock into the boot and close the lid on it - I hope that helps.

Thankyou, I think your info was just what i wanted to hear, little price to pay for peace of mind..will try for better price, infact they should provide it free :lol:
 
Make sure your car is clean before putting on the cover :thumbsup: , little bits of dust/grit can ruin your paintjob under a cover

Does anyone have any experience of an indoor cover ? My Z seems to get dusty in its garage and am thinking about getting a cover.

Yes the genuine BMW tailored in garage cover soft, complete cover, looks great too :D
Got mine from Joe @Sopers great price and rapid delivery .It is pricey but so was car :o
certainly recommend it
 
Another vote for the Z4 bmw cover from Sopers .. fits like a glove...... can't remember the price phone the parts team at sopers and say you use here .. he'll do a good price and mine arrived complete with bag in 2 or 3 days.
 
i have an outdoor cover, fits well but in all honesty i seldom use it

my car is a weekend car but its still a pain taking the cover off and on, it takes only 2 minutes, i am just a lazy git
