Advice Needed - E86 3.0 MSport shocks - Bilstein Equivalent

Morning,

I'm looking for some advice on what to do - currently my dampers are knackered on my 2006 E86 3.0Si Coupé, which is also running Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

Question is what to replace the dampers with...

Are Bilstein B4's equivalent of M-Sport or Non-M-Sport OEM dampers? I've seen some sites state that B6's are M-Sport equivalent.

Is anyone B6's or B8's with the Pro-Kit springs (i.e. a B12 Kit) and how would they compare this to the standard M-Sport setup?

Also, does the B12 kit include different bump stops or do they use the standard ones?

I was under the impression that the dampers were all the same, it was just the springs that were different. Hence why the springs have blue paint on (sport springs, not m sport). m sport didn't exist on Z4's, did it?

As far as I'm aware the b4s are a slight uprated version of the standard shocks. If you can stretch your funds I would maybe look at the b6 or b8's. KonI sport shocks are also a good alternative. Sachs also do a good shock so maybe look at them.

B4s are standard fare, b6 is an uprated damper suitable for standard height, and b8 dampers are updated and suitable for lowering springs up to 40mm iirc. The b12kit consists of b8 dampers and eibachs. The kit as far as I'm aware doesn't come with bump stops, as the height is non-adjustable.

Out of interest how do you know your dampers are shot?

I thought they had internal bump stops.

If you lowered you'll need b6/8 if you want them to last.

I was planning to go with bilsteins but changed my mind and went with coilovers instead
