Advice - First real attempt at doing a silver Z4

So thinking about getting my car ready for the summer shows -

Have a snowfoam lance and a DA polisher and looking for ideas on how to do my car so its got a deep wet looking glossy shine....

so power rinse car first. then snowfoam it.

rinse and then follow by 2nd snowfoam and use a mitt to clean bodywork down.

rinse.

dry car down with drying cloth.

start with poorboys black hole and go over car

then use a decent wax then follow with a sealant ? Whats the thoughts on this and what should I be using for the wax and sealants ?

Silver needs plenty of working with that da, and decent polish and pad combination to get as much shine in as possible, glaze wise i'd swap out to 50cal filler glaze or af ultra glaze if you plan on going staight to wax,wax wise depenadant on budget, britemax vantage is great and on offer this weekend at shopand shine for £30. if flush try a Definitive Wax, Show Edition would really make it pop!
If you want the sealant route try replacing the glazes with wolfs chemicals shine and glaze then top with bodyguard, this combo should work great on silver and if applied correctly boasts up to 2 years protection :D

The shine and depth come from your DA work almost entirely. Silver can look great and slick with good final finishing. I use Menzerna FF with the Das21 and it leaves a very wet look.

thats with das21 Menzerna compound and FF topped with 3 coats of Collonite #845 ( If your using a sealant, use it pre wax not after )

I use the #845 as its a liquid wax ( easy on easy off ) but is as strong and durable as a sealant. I recently snow foamed the car 2-3 weeks after I applied it and the foam beaded off like water lol none of it stuck to the car at all, a testament to #845 I think.

This looks amazing
Just bought a Z4, Metallic tianium silver, looking to get a DA (Dual action) polisher. What polish and pads would you recommend for polishing and finishing? Already have autoglym HD wax would you suggest Collonite #845 after polishing before the wax?

#845 is a wax, it just happens to be incredibly durable  Best I've used so far for that and a few coats looks great too as you can see. Mine is Ti silver too. I use the Das21 from Cleanyourcar with the addition of the 5" back plate. for cutting I use the Megs micro fibre cutting pads with Menzerna Intensive ( prob called something else now, I've had it a while. then a black finishing pad from Menzerna with Menz final finish. once the swirls are gone I then apply a few coats of #845 ( I have Poorboys black hole which I apply sometimes, not for the filling properties as there's nothing to fill, more so for a pre wax glaze ) I'm running low of #845 so will be ordering again as well as some sealant to apply before the wax, maybe Jetseal or something, haven't decided.

Its all in the prep though, doesn't really matter what wax you use. Machine work is the key. happy detailing

As previous said I would replace all filler products as they just mask the swirls/light scratches.

If you're looking at getting your car ready for summer shows then I would personally stop using snow foam as a cleaner as the majority of snow foams are not designed to be used this way, they are there to help lift dirt. I own a sterling silver Zed, my cleaning method is as follows:

Bucket for wheels
Wheel soap (auto finesse revolution)
Wheel cleaner sprayed directly onto the wheels
Multiple brushes used
Rinse off
AF iron out used to remove contamination (only if alloys haven't been sealed or been done), agitate and rinse
Snow foam, detailing brush to agitate in and around panel trim such as window rubber
Leave to dwell for 5minutes
Rinse off
AF citrus sprayed on and left to dwell before rinsing off
Two bucket method (one for rinsing and one with shampoo) plus two wool mitts (one for top half of the car rinsed after every panel and one for bottom)
Car dried used AF Aqua deluxe towel and metro vac n blow for panel gaps
Clayed
Three stage machine polish to correct the paintwork (not yet done this on mine due to some corrosion on all four wings that BMW are replacing)
After the correction stage i always snow foam to remove any dust
Now sealants, so many choices out there, I use AF power seal, Fusso, Nanolex
Wax again so many options and the best thing to do would be to buy a few samples, My car currently has three layers of Soft 99 Authentic and a layer of AF illusion.
Wheels are also sealed using AF Mint Rims and 50CAL wheel armour

Sealant then wax is the way to go I do all my work by hand here's a detail I did a few years back the car will be getting the same treatment very soon
