Advance warning and advise please

Bought a half cover for the zed (saphire black), trying to protect the roof motor whilst outside at work, after a couple of uses noticed that it had caused several light scratches where the magnets were in the hem of the cover :x cut the magnets out of the cover so I could use it again, could not believe how powerful the magnets were, not suitable for a cars paintwork IMO :thumbsdown: would not recommend!!
Used T cut GENTLY to take them out, this went ok however it left the areas cloudy, before I get a vehicle detailler out to rectify has anyone any sound advice to sort it myself?

Thank rad wag for the advice on purchasing the roof cover as I was considering purchasing one. I guess in future prior to using the cover with the magnets is get an old blanket underneath cover which would act as a barrier between magnet and car. Anyway welcome to forum
