I've just been told that the french control techniques will now accept the stickers on the English headlights !!!

Are you sure about that? If so then change them back to UK and put the stickers on when you go to the control techniques and take em off again after LOL. In Spain the equivalent ITV will not accept the stickers!

Don’t you just love European harmonisation

okay I switched back to English, put stickers on the headlights, and it passed the test! Only the drivers side headlight seemed to need the sticker! Night driving is much improved with no on coming traffic flashing.

So with the headlights switched back to driving in the UK there are no shadows or cut offs? Good to see the French authorities allowed the sticker to pass the test, but I think now it's passed you can remove the sticker. As BMW mentioned beam pattern is flat and will not dazzle other road users. You will only need to put the sticker back on for the next test.

no more shadows or cut offs. The control technique guy only seemed to be concerned with the drivers side dipped headlight going a little too much to the left.
