Adhesive problems

Hi

I think I know the answer to this one but am hopin someone on here can confirm ......

I changed the roundels on the side turn signals today using a 2 part resin/hardener adhesive. Once dried, I put them back on but had stuck the one on UPSIDE DOWN. Luckily I was able to prise apart but am only left with the resin and no hardener. Will the resin still supply me with a good enough bond if left longer to cure ????

I doubt it, but why dont you use shower sealant to put the other one on. Use some low-tac tape to hold it on overnight and it will be a very strong fit.

No - the hardner is a catalyst and will take years to set, if ever. Think of 2 part adhesives like araldite - they don't set in the tube.

As above use silicone sealer which makes an excellent bond if taped in position for an hour until it part cures, else but some oem double sided BMW donuts

Cheers both this was the answer I was expecting. Car looks a bit odd with no badge at all I must say. The 2 part resin has worked very well on the other.

That's now 8 badgers done 1 to go agggggghhhhhhhh

I used hot glue gun on mine with success in case you have one around?

I've used 3M HD (Heavy Duty) double sided tape - it's wide enought to cut into the 'donuts' CJ mentions.
