adding photo onto avatar and signature???

hi, i have just signed up to photobucket in an attempt to get a photo onto my signature. can i do this straight from my pc, or do i have to have a link from the website?

i have tried linking the (img) from one of the photos but only the txt shows and not the image. cheers
