Adding Extended Lighting

Anyone without extended light package successfully added it? Most interested in the exit lights at the bottom on the doors.

I have the extended light package, not sure if want to go to the hassle of adding it if I didn't have it! The wiring must be a headache.

Interestingly I was just thinking the same myself. My old 120D had the the door lights and I do quite miss it. Looking at the door handles, it looks as if there is already the option there to add them in so would be interesting to see if anyone has attempted it.

There are plastic divots in the door for the lights. So, it would require some cutting. But, sometimes the wiring harnesses are there and just not used. Hoping that's the case. If not, it's likely not worth the hassle.

I fitted my own lights, but found that there is no wiring for the puddle lights, foot lights or door handles.
Puddle lights cheap enough, but door lights silly money.
So I bodged together some white leds for the door handles and lay wires back through the door conduit tubes to a relay driven off the dome light and live wire down by fuse box, so not an easy job.
Also fitted some orange ambient leds around the rear, foot and door storage, powered from the cigar lighter led, including a micro switch that switches on white leds to light up the door storage when I open them.

I think that i have the door wiring looms in my garage. I bought them for my old car, but then bought a property to majorly renovate so never got around to doing the car. My current car already has them. They are still in the bmw bags.

Ive no idea about the instructions to do it, bit if i recall, the looms were T shaped. One branch likely to the handle and one to the puddle light. I guess the other spur was to power.
