Adding Avatar

So having been a member on this forum for a few years now I thought it’s about time I added a signature and avatar. Signature easy to do avatar not so easy. My problem is my photos are too large. When I try to make then smaller I can only get them to around 50KB. When I try to upload it says it’s too large and needs to be less than 48 KIB. What’s KIB? I’m using an iPad to upload the avatar and to edit the photo to make it smaller.

KIB is KB (kilobytes). They do have to be pretty small to be honest. I remember having to reduce the resolution AND physical size of the photo on my pc editing stuff to get them small enough. Got bored in the end and went back to 'stealth mode'.

So I have managed to put a photo as my avatar and was quite simple . I emailed a picture to myself on the smallest KB setting. It gives you the option of sending actual size, medium size or small. Once you get the email save the photo. Then edit the photo by cropping it as small as possible , then save it. It uploaded as my avatar straight away. I tried it again but by not cropping it but it wouldn’t upload so you definitely need to crop it.
