Out of interest, I checked the wheel dimensions before refitting them.
All four wheels are 8.5x18, ET38.
Front tyres are 225/40 and rears are 255/35.
Odd to have staggered tyres on square wheels? I guess someone got the wheels off something else but thought they'd better stick to the BMW tyre sizes?
Seem to sit nicely in the arches, considering its non-Sport suspension, and it handles fine, so I'll not mess with them.
Well today I learned not to jump to conclusions when a fault pops up!
Last week I retro-fitted a pair of footwell lights as this car came pre-wired but didn't have any fitted.
I got a pair of LED units off Ebay that had good reviews.
This morning the 'bulb defective' warning popped up. Having read all about non-compatible LED lights I spent half an hour grovelling around in the footwells swapping the units for the standard boot one to see what the issue was. Couldn't work out what was causing the problem.
Eventually common sense woke up and decided to intervene. Stuck all the lights on and walked round the car. Sure enough, passenger side sidelight bulb out! Doh!
Wouldn't be quite so worrying if my day job wasn't writing instruction manuals
