Have a 2011 30i without alarm system. Is there an oem or after market add on to use remote to sound horn?.thx!

Yep...I believe it was an add on accessory. At least in US

That's surprising. 
I had both my E86s coded to Beep on locking, the first by someone on here with Carly and the 2nd by another forum member using a laptop (no idea what software) but it's really handy as I often miss the indicator flash but always hear the Beep!
I don't know if a car without an alarm could be coded that way, but if the indicators flash when you lock it then a beep may be possible.

There's a space for the tilt sensor and siren in front of the left wheel near the two fanfare horns. I installed the mount & siren/tilt sensor...
But for some :soapbox: reason, BMW did not include the connection for the siren/tilt sensor in the front as a part of the main loom. I've left the parts in for a future project to see if I can find someone who can help me with the wiring -- but that's where I was stuck in this retrofit. I don't have the skill with the electrical diagrams that others do... So that's been halted since June.
The coding is straightforward and has been done by others for e90 and other models using the same parts.

Yes, US spec models had it as an option whereas here in Europe it was standard to have the alarm system fitted from the factory
