As some of you migth know i've had some recent problems with my car having my throttle bodies replaced .Anyhows after picking my car up from the mechanics i noticed a sligth tapping noise from the rear driver's side.Ignored it as i'm normally paranoid about this kinda thing,.. anyhow drove 3-4 miles home..left it till today..drove it 2-3 miles parked up... drove it home... after 1/2 mile i can hear a banging .. sound... as if somone had tied a hammer to the back of my car and i was dragging it along the floor..Anyhows pull up look underneath car expecting there to be a bit of metal hanging down..Nothing...Drive a few feet forward same sound again ...Stop again check the car i notice behind my rear drivers wheel hanging from a wire going to me caliper (T/C ? ABS?) .. Theres half a suspension spring wrapped around it ...lol..I was first thinking 100% taking it back and contesting with Sanspeed that it was there fault. As i remember evertime ringing them about my Throttle bodies the mechanic was out test driving it.But thinking more logically the reason it was fine before they had it is probably own to them jacking it up to change me diff oil thus alloys the suspension to fully extend alloying the broken park of the srping to fall down ? Possible ? As it was perfect when i handed it in and i noticed the sligth noise pulling away from picking it up..but i had to go to work and didn't notice.

Cost that i'm not really needing at the moment..Anyhows today the weather looked the best since owning the car...and i needed some cheering up so i put the roof the down for the first time!!! and it was great... much warmer than i though.Anyhows switching CD's while in traffic..And the CD doesn't come out? just loads of clicking sounds..try and try again..just makes a clicking noise and nothing...Still plays...So that finally killed the rest of my day... :( What a week :(

So guys add me to the list of the broken rear spring crew...

eeek. well as you say the suns coming out, so best get the faults out of the way so you can have a clear summer 8)

tip with the CD - gently use another CD (one you don't like) to wiggle it out as you press eject...

eek - maybe i should jack my car up and check my rear springs now.

Good luck getting the spring fixed - doesnt look too diffuclt to do DIY if you have the tools - no spring compressors are needed either.

Anyone know how to sort this problem? Really gettings annoyed with this CD player..

As said before the CD that original got stuck still played fine just wouldn't eject...Tried getting it out with another CD and it sucked that in by mistake and on thers 2 in there :( ...
And it won't play anything..Just say's CD error.

Is there a quick and simple way to remove the facia? I've searched "cd stuck" " cd jammed" couldn't find anything relating just CD changer problems :(

Wow.. you weren't supposed to push it in all the way, just to wiggle the other one out.. Did you really get two stuck now??

Yes i have 2 stuck :(

Somebody help :( I cant' stand not having a CD player...i wanna take it to a shop but i work 9-7 weekends days and until 1.30pm sats (the price of a Z4 ownership it seems!) Haven't really got the time in the week and to be honest the money :( ..is there an easy way to take the front off without getting any little small marks ?

no wayyy.. if you really need to take the cd unit apart, you'll need to remove it from the car first.. which means getting the vents out - maybe do a search for this.

but tbh.. if you got your 2nd cd stuck... maybe dont attempt this yourself ? :)

+ 1 :o

Also, A11y did a How To for replacing the stereo facia that might help whoever looks at yours... it had pictures so you may be able to see how much of the CD slot is exposed when the facia is removed.

Good luck mate... I find it very hard to live without music.

One other option... if the headunit is coming out have a look at SK93s Aux port How To... you can then attach an MP3 player and not worry about CDs getting stuck. I believe it is almost as cheap to buy the cable as to make your own (As SK93 did. As he would!) But I think that's on the thread. If it's a BMW cable also look out the recent post about a cheap supplier

On CD's and faults, my multichanger has just stopped working. Piece of crap :(

My car must not like it's new Ellipsoids or something :D

My auto-changer is useless anyway, the sport suspension has it skipping constantly over anything other than bowling alley smooth roads! The single slot player is much better.
