Adaptive Suspension

Hi there,

How best to tell (is there an easy way) if my E89 has adaptive suspension or not?

Will there be something in the cabin or on the iDrive to help? or would I be able to tell by just looking at the strut maybe?

Tip your VIN into a vin decoder …

Given you’re a N52 E89? I doubt very much you’ll have adaptive suspension…

Look at front struts near the caliper mount…if it’s adaptive there’s a bulge in the damper with a cable coming out of it..

Here is a picture. If you have the M Sport option you might have adaptive suspension. Turn your front wheel and look in from the side. If there is
a motor on the side of the shock, you have adaptive. I have a 2011 N52 with M Sport option and I have adaptive.

Set the car to sport+ - if it rattles your teeth out over bumps, you have it.

Or it means the original shocks are done
VIN is the easiest way to check.
Like B21 has said, it is very unlikely it has adaptive as it is very rare.

Sounds unlikely as it’s an add-on but glad I asked.

Just looking to do the refresh here so need to check before purchasing the new ones now.
