Adaptive suspension=adaptive hight

Does the adaptive suspension change the hight of the car depending on selected setting for example sport+ or is the height fixed?

Height is fixed. It's lower than non adaptive suspension (slightly). It's active dampening. Soft or hard dependent on setting or the way you drive.

My car has the ability to change from Normal to Sport to Sport+. I always thought that this just altered the throttle response and steering. Does it also stiffen up the suspension settings in the Sports modes?

Thanks for clarifying that. My car's a 23i so I don't think that it does have the adaptive suspension fitted.

Out of interest, is there any way of checking if a car has this just by looking? IE something on the shocks that makes a adaptive fitted car look different from a non?

Mine isn't meant to have adaptive, but i am convinced when I switch to sport it stiffens up?

Yes David,

It's easy to see, turn out your front wheels to full lock and look at the base of the strut. There's an apple sized bell housing at the end if the strut with a cable to it. On the pic above it's at the bottom of part 1.

If you have it, the difference is notable, as the shocks stiffen immensely. Motorways on normal settings are just so comfy, turn to sport+ and wait for indigestion as every little bump comes through. ..and potholes aren't great to hit in sport+ either!
