Adapting M3 AP's to fit the Z4M

ooh, good work! Yes stone/heat guard runs extremely close to the thicker AP disc, took a few goes to get it right.
Enjoy the brakes, they're bloody amazing! Fantastic modulation, massive stopping power and incredibly difficult to get any fade with the rs29s.

ETA: pretty sure your discs are the wrong way round.... but I see yours are not AP discs?? So perhaps I'm wrong?
should be like this

Thanks Tom,

Until you mentioned I hadn't realised they weren't AP discs, looks like they are from Performance Friction. I fitted them this way around based on the direction of the curved veins. Just searched and found this which suggests I have them the right way around http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3137 :)

Yes 5575 is the caliper you want, however I'm almost certain you'll need new brackets and bells (and possibly discs) if you buy an E92 M3 kit intending to use it on these cars. An E92 M3 kit will not fit an E46 M3 (which the Z4M is almost identical to). Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs.

You're right, I forgot about the different E43 M3 vs E92 M3. Got a quote for bells and brackets, will have to go that path...

Bummer. I'm sure you have, but double check your discs are 356 x 32mm, if not they'll need to be changed as well.

First trackday of the season at Snetterton last Saturday and chance to try out the APs. Stayed at the Breckland Lodge, parking almost next to another Z4M Roadster (M90 MAD) owned by a guy called John. Despite the day being dry and mild the circuit never fully dried out and remained greasy, so M track remained on. Had some great tussles with other M3 including a pair of CSL plus two new Cayman that were very impressive and gave me a hard time. The AP brakes with Pagid RS29 are an excellent combination, I could stay out of track for many laps with no vibration, fade or squeak; it is definitely the tyres that are the limiting factor now. I had worried that the rears might be a little over braked but didn't get that sense at all, highly recommended. :)
