Acknowledgments

I was leaving Halfords yesterday as a nice facelift E85 with red m-sport seats was pulling in. I gave a big was and got a thumbs up and wave back. I was made up for the rest of the day :)
 
If a stranger waved at me whilst I was out driving my car, I'd think they were an absolute lunatic and wouldn't engage for fear of being bummed :lol:

It's weird behavior in my book :thumbsup:

i know society has changed down the years and not for the best, as far as the zed is concerned i think due to its popularity all sort of people drive them, and are no part of a club or group, its just a car to them, albeit a nice one. those who were on the north wales run will maybe remember towards the end of the day a more vintage soft top owner came by and waved to us all- club mentality of course. I todays world where we dont even speak to other drivers in case of road rage ect its mostly gone from our thinking. However, if you own a motorhome you see 95% of motorhomers will wave to each other all over europe and the camaraderie continues there.. so, its the car im afraid and who buys it - i would hazard a guess and say nobody waves from the lofty postion of the newer zeds. It s the domain of the older cars and older owners i think now.

Sorry, I'm in the "waving to strangers because they drive the same car is a bit weird" group too; however if a Z4 is waiting for a gap in traffic I'll usually give them the space to come out.

and as the fabric of society slowly unravels.....
 
I wave or flash every Z4........one "posh" lady looked terrified whilst I was waving lime a loon......it was the most nervous little wave back I'd ever seen :rofl:
 
I got a wave other day - the fella passed me and lifted his arm - I was pottering as the oil temp hadn’t got far from the bottom. He must have thought that old fart doesn’t deserve to be in a 35is :rofl:

Not many wave :thumbsdown:
 
I always wave to a fellow zed, 9 times out of 10 I get no response. Waved to a silver e85 yesterday and the female driver looked at me like I'd just arrived from another planet

I do understand the waving thing with regards to niche cars, like 2 seater roadsters. But people in other forums I've been on (st owners club, fiesta zsoc) do the wave thing aswell, and it seems weird because 90% of the owners of those owners won't be enthusiast's, they just pcp them. It's just very odd :lol:

Happened to me last week in the same circumstances. Oil was still cold. Only it was a sand and gravel wagon in a hurry. They are paid by the load I believe. The raised finger was accompanied by a mouthful of abuse. I can't say I had a lot of sympathy when I saw he had been pulled over by an officer of the law with a speed gun in the next village to ours. I did manage to refrain from returning his wave. :thumbsup:
 
The not waving thing is not really an issue for me as I hardly ever see another Zed when I'm with my Zed. I guess that's because the rest of you don't drive past my local workshop that often :|
