Well called my insurers and its all been sorted. Because the 3rd party are insured and admitted fault, there is no excess to pay and luckily my insurers approved garage is my local BMW dealer, Berry. Car goes in on Tuesday next week, and they have an accident company they use who are loaning me a 13 plate Z4 28i Auto, for 10 days.nsounds excessive and that's how the make their money. A sure they will charge the insurer of vehicle who hit me, £500 quid a day!!!!!
Also my insurers have said they will have their legal team appoint someone to assess my neck injury and liaise with my doc. Not sure on this and going to see how my neck feels by the end of the weekend. It hurts today but not enough to think there is an issue.
Mine was also taken into a BMW bodyshop (David Holmes/Williams Stockport) when I had my light altercation with a lorry.
The e90 M3 I had after my accident was 'only' £350 a day, but it was still taken to court because of hire costs being about double the repair cost. They reduced the costs in the end as the hire company couldn't truly justify their £3.5k bill when I'd confirmed that I'd have been happy with a £100/day runaround (i.e. 3-series BMW from Avis) for a fortnight.
What the accident company didn't make clear - despite me asking - was that they were also charging for loads of extras that I didn't need or want (like-for-like insurance at £20/day extra, sat-nav at £10/day extra, excess waiver at £50/day extra, and charging £100 each time to pick-up and drop-off).
