Just brought home my Z4 M40i Final Edition in Frozen Black II Metallic! 🎉 Absolutely thrilled with it.

In the meantime, I'd love some recommendations from fellow owners:

  • Car shampoo (safe for matte/frozen paint)
  • Microfiber towels
  • Ceramic coating (DIY or professional)
  • Sunshade

For these - I'd go Gyeon:
Maybe some edgeless microfibre for frozen paint.

Car shampoo (safe for matte/frozen paint)
Gyeon Foam first
Gyeon Q2M Bathe
(Make sure it’s not bathe plus!!) could use this once it has a ceramic coat

Ceramic coating (DIY or professional)
Gyeon Mat cure

If you need a proper ceramic coat - probably best to have professionally applied.
 
Are you going to have it PPF'd? That paint is tough to protect. Might consider at least the front fenders/hood/bonnet/lights/side mirrors? If you do, I'd go ahead and have them ceramic coat on top of the PPF and the remaining car to get that hydrophobic look we all look for - lol.
 
I believe there are loads of others here who have detailing recommendations in the search. Look for a high quality foam cannon, pressure washer, wash mitts and detailing spray to go with your shampoo. Don't forget about the wheels. They take the longest and are best done with a separate set of brushes, wash bucket, rags etc. The Z4 brake pads give off a lot of brake dust.
 
Been using Gtechniq products on my Frozen Grey for over a year now. Great products at a reasonable price and if you contact them they are happy to give whatever advice you need. I am lucky that mine already had full ceramic coating and PPF added from the doors forward professionally done by Topaz Detailing in London when I purchased it. A must with Frozen paint
 
Just a few of the products that I use on my Frozen Orange car...

Autoglym Pure Shampoo as it has no additives.

Or if the car isnt that dirty I use Chemical Guys matte detailer spray and sealant.

When I first brought the car home I used Dr Beasley’s Matte Paint Cleanser followed by a Matte Paint Coating. Very easy to apply and provides paint protection.

The key is not to use anything that is silicone based that will leave a shine so no need to polish!
 
I have bought the following for my Frozen Grey

GYEON Q²M Foam for the prewash
DODO JUICE - Born To Be Mild for the handwash
Gyeon Q²M Cure Matte for the care and protection to apply every +/-6 weeks after washing.

And I have the 500ml Dodo Juice Dullicious QD in the car together with a GYEON Q²M Baldwipe EVO and GYEON Q²M Softwipe EVO to quickly remove things like bird droppings from the car while on the go, or to remove insects that weren't removed during a regular wash.

I know that Dr Beasley has a very good range of products and are probably even the gold standard when it comes to treating matte paint, but here in Europe they're often hard to find or very expensive.
