I never knew Mercs were so solidly built and much better than my Z4 in terms of built quality....
Yeh it has the Premium Plus pack added to it. The interior is a very very nice place to be. I also looked at a 420d M-Sport and it looks/ feels horrid in comparison.
I would envisage changing my daily car every 3 years anyway. I like driving new cars, spec'ing to my personal requirements / tastes and enjoying the car as I would want it. I'd undoubtedly be better off financially by purchasing a 3 year old car outright at £17k and losing £7-10k in depreciation rather than £15-20k. Newer cars are more efficient and you have the warranty / unexpected bills to factor in with used vehicles, which would impact overall costs.
I guess it's just an opportunity cost thing. I'm always going to need a sensible daily / family car and will change every 3 years. I have a fund set aside (currently £400 PCM) and will adapt as my salary / requirements change for each subsequent car. It's just a monthly expense that I factor in to my budgeting.
