AC Schnitzer rear diffuser

there's very little of the AC stuff that I like for the Z; a lot of it imo looks really tacky, but I've decided that I *need* one of these in my life. Think it looks awesome on imola but could still finish off the back end nicely on mine. Just wondered if anyone knew any where reasonable to get my hands on one?

like this but without the tape

they crop up on ebay now and then, there's a company selling the ac backbox which looks horrible imo, but they have the diffuser too for about a grand. Am I likely to get it much cheaper?

any ideas would be awesome, the cheaper the better as I'm guessing it will cost a fair bit to ship

Ive seen the ones on eBay but i agree it's the only acs part I like! Really sets the back end off! I've had a look around couldn't find any on m style searched in google not much came up. I think ca automotive sell them but it's not listed on the website so would be worth a call :)

Its a lovely diffuser and mine has lasted well. With the ACS backboxes it brings the shape bang up to date abnd cleans up the rear, although the styling is not liked by everyone. In the metals, tiz the bees kneez! :D

its quite a job to fit though as you need to cut the bumper etc. so would advicse a pro to do it.

Certainly got good advice and serve from Schnitzer UK, highly recommend as all who have dealt with them on this forum.

Looking good, cheers for the pics, same colour :)

Im trying to imagine what it would look like with the Rpi on, seems pretty invloved for a DIY fit but tempted to give it a go!

Do the exhaust trims just stick on?

Do you have a shot from slightly higher up? I couldnt help but think it might be a bit unnoticable when viewed higher up..

Deffo agree with the price comments, but is the one mod that really transforms the rear end imo! The front splitters are worse at nearly the same price

Found some cheaper bolt on diffusers which are a tenth of the price but again from the photos I saw they looked a little too discrete...

Personnaly I think the ACS front splitters look like vampire fangs so am not a fan. Was after the RPI one which will go on next year.

Jaw, yes the ACS backboxes just slip on perfectly. They are noticably lighter than OEM and a bit noiser too. More bassy. To be honest the exhaust noise dominated a bit and could not hear the induction enough to my taste (now balanced with a Gruppe M). Otherwise they are perect in everyday traffic motorway etc, no droning etc. You get what you pay for although ACS is high end.

Had the pleasure of following my car a few weeks ago and what a noise from the outside! just superb.

only have a crap pic frop higher up, its a dark lit garage from a Blackberry:

I think it looks a beast...

But I like the OEM boxes more. Would love he rear diffuser think it looks fantastic

Love the colour too by far the best

I know it's the design of the acs exhaust but the fitment is wierd, almost like they are slanted and stick out???

Optical illusion maybe??

Never liked ACS stuff, it's almost as if they try too hard.

I'm sorry but I agree with this, prefer OEM, with CSL's and aero skirts at a push but this all looks a bit too aftermarket and over the top for me. Why oh why would you choose 2 exhausts instead of 4 :crazydude: ?!

4 end pipes don't nean 4 exhaust silly  It was a hard choice to loose the trademark M 4 pipes, but it just looked weird with the OEM back boxes + I was after bit more noise.

I've only taken fairly crappy pics but trust, it does not look aftermarket whatsoever. They've designed their stuff well although of course the pipe ends signature ACS style here you'l see on the M6 etc as well.

The CF diffuser and pipes tydy up the rear end and its far more modern design (on classic shape which Ilike) whilst the side skirts accentuate the waistline (the curve is more significant) and the hole lightens up it hips. this is exactly what I wanted and this is also why the car does not have a rear spoiler. Personnaly I think Aero skirts make it look lardy and whilst I can't critise CSL wheels I dobn't want 19 inch wheels due to track use and rough roads whee I live and am holding out for Rays Forged TE37 or something.

horses for courses :)

Definatly the best colour :D

 that colour shows off the detail and overall shape like no other.

I meant pipes, not exhausts (doh!) potato, pottato, and yes I am silly. I like the lardy look, but as you said; horses for courses!
