Abuse?

Does anyone else get alot of stuipd comments throughin towards them with the roof down, or just generally driving around? Stopped at the side of the road and some wido starting calling me a snooby rich b4stard.. I really don't understand some people. I got pissed off and said something along the lines of, well when you can afford one you can shout abuse, in the mean time shut it... Stuipd I know but some people are just unbelieveable.

Best thing to say is that you bought it with your bonus from the bank :). Make sure you are just about to drive off though.
Usually it`s nice comments but a few times received swear words directed at me. If it ever happens and there`s a copper nearby I will report harrassment for a laugh.

London in the evenings is worse. Stop at traffic lights and every boy racer :driving: seems to want a challenge!

I think it is because to the ill educated, a Z4 looks like a super car when in fact a good used example can cost about the same as a family hatch. I am happy to keep the secret though. I once had someone say something derogatory to me at the lights in Newcastle but as he was in a badly sooped up peugeot 106 to be honest I wasnt interested in anything he thought he had to say about my pride and joy.

An Audi (left) tried to race me (right) at traffic light. I just ignored him and let him went first when the light went green. Then I overtook him at the roundabout. :)

I only overtake people if they are going too slow (doing 40mph in 60mph road). But many white-van men really hate being overtaken and often flash the headlights.

But I have not been abused because I am in a Z4.

I thought the car would attract a lot more abuse than it has in the 2 months I've owned it. The only negative comment I've had was a "put your roof up you flash c**t" from a young lad obviously 'impressing' his bint. I can live with that, I wasn't the one having to walk home.

I lost it this weekend, pulled onto the motorway and some guy in a 307 was driving (IMO) too close to my rear bumper, so I gestured in the rear mirror for him to back off a bit, he didnt so I hit the brakes (gently) and told him again, was no where I could go infront as plenty of traffic ahead. Anyway he undertook me and nearly side-swiped me cutting me up when he came back in, I lost it - literally wanted him to pull over there and then. I couldnt understand what I'd done wrong, really would love to hear his side of the story!

Not really had any abuse from pendestrians though. To be fair I'd probably stop and confront them if so, people generally quickly become sheepish all of a sudden if you actually go up to them.

I never sign people to back off, because I hate it if someone in front does it to me. :)

yeah i often get abused for driving a girls car, normally from people who dont actually own a car or have clio's corsa's etc.
Love the "you to$$er" looks i get with the top down. worth every penny

Funny, i am normally ask if i am driving my husbands car. Only got abuse once when some silly little girl in a corsa cut me up and i hit my horn as i had to brake avoid to avoid hitting her as she pulled back in. I got past later on and she followed me home and got out with her fish wife mother and screamed i was a rich bitch and i should get fired because i did not deserve to drive a comapny car like that. Wish i did work for someone that gave these out a company cars.

Yesterday was driving down the M1 to Norhtampton - not sure if there was some chav hot hatch meet on as at least 15 shot past me, several giving me a unfriendly wave. Two came up behind me and flashed me, i was doing 70 mph once in the inside and the second time in the middle lane, one pulled up next to me wound the window down and screamed - we can have your crappy car, come on race me. I was tempted, but shook my head and ignored him. Even before i got the M1 yesterday i had several cars encouraging me to race off the lights. My car was loaded up with boxes on the passenger seat and the roof was up, wondered if i had a big sign on the back of car yesterday. A lot of police ont he M1 yeterday morning as well, something must have been going on.

Must be just me then that cant resist spanking little boy racers from the lights when they want a race :P .

Had kids shout at me with the roof down before, however one time is was 5c in December so they had a point.

The thing i find is remembering to curb my potty mouth when the roof is down. I dont flame drivers or gesticulate but i do moan a lot to myself about peoples driving; the thing is with the roof down in slow traffic everyone can hear

The correct answer to this is: "Sure, but first I'll race you back to your mothers. Don't worry, I know the way!"

And go! :driving:

I've sat in slow-moving traffic in a semi-residential area before and heard "Cnut" yelled from somewhere above me - two blokes hanging out of their 4th storey flat yelling abuse at me LOL.

The comments about being "rich" because we drive a Z4 crack me up. My Z4 cost me less than £11k, yet so many folk - who I'd hazard a guess have spent more than that on a brand new Fiesta/Corsa/Astra/Focus - think I'm loaded. No, just sensible car purchasing...

Very, very tempting but in the small minded town I live in, that's a guaranteed kick to the rear quarter panel.

Spot on, makes me laugh too. My car is 6 years old and cost much less the the new Fiesta ST my neighbour has. First thing he asked when I brought the Z4 home was if I'd robbed a bank. Oh well, better than being thought of as a pikey I guess...

Was stuck in a traffic jam not long after buying the car and a Renault Clio went passsed with 3 young muppets onboard and the words w***er were yelled out think they thought it was funny i was in Traffic but they may have been yelling at the M5 in front of me although my Z was gleaming after a wash and QD but i had the top up at the time.

Makes me laugh when people think you are loaded owning these cars when i bought mine back in Jan 08 my neighbour could not believe i paid £17.5k for a car that looked like this and the fact it was as new very low miles.

When people say this it makes me laugh as they most likely earn a lot more than me.

Most people are not aware of car values a few years ago my Mechanic friend who looks after my car kept my Calibra overnight to get an early start next day and when he had a row with his neighbour they turned round and said its OK for you must be loaded owning a car like that  she was only worth around £4k at the time

A couple of woodchucks in a pickup called me a "faggot" one time. My wife was in the passenger seat. We both laughed.
