Welcome to the forum

New front bumber is I believe a straight swap... front lights too.

Rear bumpber and lights are more troublesome I think.

AFAIK the sides pretty much stayed the same :)

Hi Kenliew and welcome

As gannet says the front end swap is straight forward and any front will fit on any model with only minor changes (airducts if you go to an ///M). You will need new foglights, but the wiring connections are the same.

Old write up pre headlight changes

Clear lights can be swapped in as they are identical, but upgrading to Xenon my require an LCM recode.

Rear is very difficult as the lights are totally different. I only know 1 peron who has done that member 'FemmeT'. The rear bumper cover is a different profile too and matches the later lights.

There are no other changes you'd need to disguise/change a pre to post facelift aside perhaps wheels and minor internal cosmetics

I know this sounds a bit strange, but for all that hassle, why not buy a facelift car? Just take your loan over an extra year for a similar payment, or if you are smashing the piggy bank to get it, borrow a little and get what you clearly, really want. Spamming up a pre facelift model will never turn it into a facelift car. To me it's like wearing a fake Rolex, it'll never be the real thing, and I'd always know. Good luck if you decide to take on the project though.

kenliew, welcome to the forum...
I would give you about the same recommendation that bigshurv as everything I've read the rear is a real pain and not cheap to do... :(

I'd agree with you that buying a pre facelift and trying to turn a pre into a post facelift under most circumstances does not make sense. My own project was not to do that, purely change the front end to one I liked much more (rear not touched) At the time the difference between what I purchased and a similar spec post facelift was near to £10k so not a purchase I would have made

Secondly if you already own a car that you really like then you may not wish (or be able to afford to) upgrade to a later model or year, but can and are technically able to do it.

Int e case of Femme's Alpina upgrades I doubt any of the usual commercial concerns got much of a look in when he changed the rear on his
