Can anyone advise me on things to look for..
I'm looking to get a 2006/7 coupe about 70k on the clock, 3 litre, manual, just wanted to know what tyres should be on and what effects / cost it will have to handling. What do BMW say is correct?
Anything else I need to check for apart from the usual service record etc..
many thanks all.
Gavin

Welcome to the forum Gavin. :D MPSS are a popular tyre here. Vred Sessantas also a good tyre. I recall mine had Conties on it when I bought it, personally I didn't rate them.

Hi and welcome to the forum Gavin.

AFAIK all Coupes came with Bridgestone Run-flats - 225/40 x 18 fronts and 255/35 x 18 rears.

Sport models came with 108M or 135M (also known as MV2) wheels as standard, but both had 8J x 18 front rims and 8.5J x 18 rear rims.

But most on here seem to prefer non run-flats (I've yet to try them, so cannot comment)!

Seeing as this is Z4 Forum, photos are required! First is my first Coupe on 135Ms, second is my current Coupe on 108Ms.

I'm sure there is a buyers guide for E86s - you should find it if you use the search function.

Hope you find one you like.

Welcome, great choice of future car!

What tyres BMW use/say should be on doesn't determine the best choice, only whos paid them the most to put their tyres on the new cars, mostly Bridgestone atm. Get rid of the runflats asap, first thing I did here on reading advice from others and so glad I did. I use Goodyear Eagle F1s, I find them the best in terms of all rounders.
I've learned a lot on here and made a few good mates, hope you enjoy the new car and a great forum.

Thank you all.. I'm a bit new to all the abbreviations and stats..
I've spied a what I have heard is a rare launch model deep metallic green one..
can't work out how to add a photo..

Given the colour it may be an SE model (so only Sport seats if specified as an option). :(

But to add photos, post a reply, click on the "Img" tab then drag and drop your photo(s) into the middle of the "" that appears in your post.

Good choice of car. I would have bitten off hands to get a green one, but never saw one for sale.

I don't think the Z4C has any particular weakspots - look for full service history, well maintained, good condition generally. After that choose one you like and has the options you want. Don't worry about tyres, just swap onto good quality non-run flats and all will be good.

I just bought one too still waiting on it to get here...

2007 3.0si coupe.

I've been reading for hours the last couple days trying to figure out which brand and size CSL 19s I should get.
