I have a car manufactured in June 2012 E98 20i, European version, and buy in Shanghai. Due to the sound system not to my satisfaction, when I get all the TOP-HIFI of audio components, and started the installation. Speakers all went well, but in the end, a problem with the program the power amplifier, the programming cannot. Amplifier part numbers: 65,129,221,624. In queries, this amplifier is on in the Z4 23i or 30i or 35i. whether it is because of this reason and not by programming? Also, my car is factory fitted with "Active Sound Design" module. Part number: 65,129,282,180. If no ASD module access to the system and cause the program to fail? Or does not match the power amplifier with the CIC? Please master pointing. Thank you so much.

Sorry it's not gone right and you have a problem. Can't help but hopefully someone will be able to soon. Good luck with it.

Personally, I think you'll have to speak with a dealer or BMW coder about this. I read lots of forums and don't know of anyone that has upgraded BMW hifi from low to high spec versions, most prefer to remove the BMW hifi altogether and replace it with better audio brands, probably to avoid issues just like this.

In order to add an amplifier, you would at the very least have to reprogram the CIC to accept the amplifier over the MOST Bus. I think there is also additional functionality like a graphic equaliser, that needs to be added/enabled. Are you using ISTA/P with the iCOM A+B?

As Maniac says, take it to a dealer unless you are 100% sure of what you are trying to achieve. It is very easy to render these vehicles useless with a singe incorrect setting!

I would suggest that you ask for some help here: http://bmwcoders.com/

It would be useful if you could let us know how you overcame the problem?
